The Jean-Pierre Graff Trophy (french: Trophée Jean-Pierre Graff) is an award in the Ligue Magnus, the top professional ice hockey league in France, given to the most promising player in the league. Ligue Magnus
The Ligue Magnus, currently known as Synerglace Ligue Magnus for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's division of the French ice hockey pyramid, established in 1906. The league operated under a variety of names before taking that of its championship trophy, the Magnus Cup, in 2004. The trophy was in turn named for Frenchman and IIHF founder Louis Magnus. Format 12 teams play a 44-game regular season. The schedule is fully balanced and there are no geographic conferences. Regulation wins are worth 3 points, as per international rules. The top 8 teams qualify for the Magnus Cup playoffs, with all series contested in a best-of-seven format. The remaining 4 teams play a 6-game round-robin, at the end of which the last-place team is relegated. The Magnus Cup champions qualify for the following season's Champions Hockey League. Alexandre Texier
Alexandre Texier (born 13 September 1999) is a French professional ice hockey Forward (ice hockey), forward for the ZSC Lions of the National League (ice hockey), National League (NL) on loan from the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Texier was started his career with the Brûleurs de Loups in the French Ligue Magnus. He was selected by the Blue Jackets in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, the first player drafted directly out of the French domestic league. He then spent two seasons with KalPa of Liiga, the top league in Finland, moving to North America and making his NHL debut in 2019. Internationally Texier has represented France men's national ice hockey team, France at the junior and senior level. The Association Étoile Noire de Strasbourg is a French ice hockey team based in Strasbourg and playing in Division 1. History The team currently uses the name of "Étoile Noire de Strasbourg" (Strasbourg Black Star) and was founded in 2000; they play home games at the Patinoire Iceberg. The Boxers de Bordeaux (Bordeaux Boxers) are a France, French ice hockey team currently playing in Ligue Magnus. The team was founded in 1974, and were promoted to the top tier of French ice hockey in 2015. History The team was founded in 1974 as the Bordeaux Hockey Club, and operated with the nickname Dogue de Bordeaux, Dogues de Bordeaux until 1988. The team was later known as the Girondins de Bordeaux from 1988 to 1992, as the Aquitains de Bordeaux from 1992 to 1995, and reverted to Dogues de Bordeaux from 1995 to 1998.
