Jean-Marie Teno
Jean-Marie Teno (born 1954) is a Cameroonian film director and filmmaker, "one of Africa's most prolific filmmakers". Life Teno was born in 1954 in Famleng in Bandjoun. He studied audiovisual communication at the University of Valenciennes and worked as a film critic for ''Bwana Magazine'' and as editor-in-chief at France 3. In 1983, he directed his first short documentary ''Schubbah''. In 1992 he made his documentary ''Africa, I will pluck you'' on the effects of colonialism and neocolonialism in Cameroon. In 1996, he made ''Clando'', which won the Audience Award at the 6th African Film Festival in Milan, Italy. Jean-Marie Teno is also a producer of his own films with Les Films du Raphia. In 2007-2008, he was a Visiting Artist at Copeland Fellow at Amherst College, and in 2009-2010 he was Visiting Professor at Hampshire College, Massachusetts. Hampshire College
Hampshire College is a Private college, private Liberal arts colleges in the United States, liberal arts college in Amherst, Massachusetts. It was opened in 1970 as an experiment in alternative education, in association with four other colleges in the Pioneer Valley: Amherst College, Smith College, Mount Holyoke College, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Cameroon

Amherst College
Amherst College ( ) is a private liberal arts college in Amherst, Massachusetts. Founded in 1821 as an attempt to relocate Williams College by its then-president Zephaniah Swift Moore, Amherst is the third oldest institution of higher education in Massachusetts. The institution was named after the town, which in turn had been named after Jeffery, Lord Amherst, Commander-in-Chief of British forces of North America during the French and Indian War. Bandjoun
Bandjoun (''La 'Djo'' in local language) is a town and commune in the Koung-Khi Department in the West Region of Cameroon. Bandjoun is also the capital of the Koung-Khi department, and one of the largest traditional ''chefferie'' (chiefdom) in Bamiléké country. The chief dwells in Hialah, and has many wives. Its inhabitants speak '' Ghomala''' or ''Bandjoun'' which is one of the Bamiléké family of languages. Geography Bandjoun is located some 10 km south of Bafoussam and some 230 km north-east of Douala. Access to the municipality is by the N4 road from Bafoussam which passes through the municipality then goes south-east to Bayangam. African Film Festival
African Film Festival, Inc. (AFF) is a non-profit cultural organization that presents an annual film festival and year-round community programs. Based in New York City, the organization was founded in 1990. The organization is dedicated to promoting greater understanding of African culture through film. Programming AFF was established in 1990, by Mahen Bonetti and an ad hoc committee of African and American artists and scholars. AFF's flagship program, the New York African Film Festival (NYAFF) was launched in 1993 under the banner of Modern Days, Ancient Nights. The festival was co-presented with the Film Society of Lincoln Center and in association with Brooklyn Museum.
