Jean-Marie Aléokol Mabiemé is a Cameroonian political figure and disability sports administrator. As a disability sports administrator, Aléokol has served a number of roles including President of Cameroonian Federation of Sports the Intellectually Disabled, lecturer at the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS), member of the Ethics Committee of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Cameroon (CNOSC), director of "Football for Hope", Vice-President of Handicap Sports Federation of Cameroon, and Vice President of African Francophone Games for the Handicapped. Cameroonian Federation of Sports the Intellectually Disabled (FECASDI) (French: ') is the national sports federation for sportspeople with intellectual disabilities competing in International Sports Federation for Persons with Intellectual Disability (INAS) and Paralympic events. They organize national ID sports championships. The federation was recognized by law in 2010, and then became a member of the Cameroonian Paralympic Committee in 2011. FECASDI has tried to get its sportspeople qualified for the 2012 Summer Paralympics. They have also hosted several conferences. The Senate is the upper house of the Parliament of Cameroon. History The Senate was created in 1996 after an amendment to the constitution created the upper chamber. However, power to convene the Electoral College and call elections for the Senate remained with the President. President Paul Biya chose not to do so until he signed decree 2013/056 on 27 February 2013, which set 14 April as the election date. Electoral system The Senate has 100 seats, of which 70 are elected and 30 appointed by the President, with each region having 10 Senators.
