Jean-Guillaume Béatrix
Jean-Guillaume Béatrix (born 24 March 1988) is a retired French biathlete who has competed since 2005 till 2018. He competed for France at the Junior World Championships where he won the Bronze in the individual race and the relay in 2007. Biathlon
The biathlon is a winter sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. Pokljuka
The Pokljuka Plateau () is a forested karst plateau at an elevation of around , located in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia. The plateau is known for its forests, mountain pastures (Javornik, Lipanca, Uskovnica, Zajamniki, etc.), and winter sports facilities. It is also a common starting point for mountain hikers. The yearly Biathlon World Cup meets are held at the Pokljuka Biathlon Center, west of the town of Bled ( by car). Pokljuka is part of Triglav National Park. Administratively, it belongs to the municipalities of Bled, Bohinj, and Gorje. Many beech and fir trees were chopped down in the 18th century for the iron foundries in Bohinj. The 2014–15 Biathlon World Cup is a multi-race tournament over a season of biathlon, organised by the International Biathlon Union. 2013–14 Biathlon World Cup
The 2013–14 Biathlon World Cup was a multi-race tournament over a season of biathlon, organised by the International Biathlon Union. The season started on 24 November 2013 in Östersund, Sweden, and ended on 23 March 2014 in Holmenkollen, Norway. Kaisa Mäkäräinen was the winner at the conclusion of the season with Tora Berger 2nd. However, the results of Olga Zaitseva were later annulled due do doping offences. The recalculation would have given overall world cup win to Berger, but the IBU made the decision based on the principle that clean athletes cannot be punished for the doping offenses of others. So, two first places were awarded in the women's overall.
