Jean-François Racine
Jean-François Racine (born April 27, 1982) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Early life Born in Roxton Falls, Quebec, Canada, Racine played junior hockey for the Drummondville Voltigeurs from 1999 until 2002. Career After his first season of junior, Racine was selected 90th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL) in the third round of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He turned professional with the Memphis RiverKings of the Central Hockey League in the 2002–03 season. In 2003–04, he moved up to the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League, the top Maple Leafs affiliate. Racine stayed with the team when the St. John's team moved to Toronto to play for the Toronto Marlies. Originally sharing the starting role with the Marlies with Tellqvist, the departure of Trevor Kidd as the prime back-up spot on the Leafs earned Tellqvist a promotion, with Racine earning the starting spot. Toronto Marlies
The Toronto Marlies are a professional ice hockey team based in Toronto. They compete in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a member of the North Division of the Eastern Conference. The Marlies is owned by Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment, a company that owns several professional sports teams in the city, including their NHL affiliate, the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Marlies have played their home games at Coca-Cola Coliseum since 2005. The Marlies was established as the New Brunswick Hawks in 1978. The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary Minor league#Ice hockey, developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Ed Belfour
Edward John Belfour (born April 21, 1965) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Belfour was born in Carman, Manitoba and grew up playing hockey. He played junior hockey for the Winkler Flyers before going to the University of North Dakota where he helped the school win the NCAA championship in the 1986–87 season. The following year, Belfour signed as a free agent with the Chicago Blackhawks (after not being picked in the draft) alternating time between them and the Saginaw Hawks of the International Hockey League. Many regard Belfour as an elite goaltender and one of the best of all-time. His 484 wins rank fifth all-time among NHL goaltenders. Belfour was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the 2011 class, his first year of eligibility.
