Jean-François Lucquin
Jean-François "Jeff" Lucquin (born 25 December 1978) is a French professional golfer. Having played on the Challenge Tour for four seasons, Lucquin finally gained his place on the European Tour for 2003 by finishing second in the 2002 Challenge Tour rankings, winning the Panalpina Banque Commerciale du Maroc Classic along the way. After struggling in his first season on the European Tour, Lucquin regained his card for the following season at the qualifying school. He then improved his standing each year, until winning in 2008 his first European Tour title at the Omega European Masters The Omega European Masters is the Swiss stop on professional men's golf's European Tour, and in 2009 it became the first event in Europe to be co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour. Valence, Drôme
Valence (, ; oc, Valença ) is a commune in southeastern France, the prefecture of the Drôme department and within the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Peter Lawrie
Peter Lawrie (born 22 March 1974) is an Irish professional golfer. Early life Lawrie was born in Dublin and educated at Terenure College and University College Dublin, where he took up a golf scholarship. He won the 1996 Irish Amateur Close Championship and turned professional in 1997. Professional career It took him several years to get a card on the European Tour. He finished fourth on the Challenge Tour Rankings in 2002, including a victory in the Challenge Tour Grand Final. This earned him a European Tour card for the first time. Lawrie credited much of this success to the help of swing coach, Brendan McDaid. Lawrie had a solid debut season on the European Tour 2003 season and also became the first Irishman to be named the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. 2008 European Tour
The 2008 European Tour was the 37th golf season since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The season began in November 2007 and consisted of 50 official money events, a drop of two from the previous year. This included seven major championships and World Golf Championships, which are also sanctioned by the PGA Tour. 27 events took place in Europe, 11 in Asia, six in the United States, four in South Africa, one in Australia and one in New Zealand. The Order of Merit was won by Robert Karlsson, the first Swedish golfer to do so. The Golfer of the Year award was given to Pádraig Harrington, who won two major championships during the season and finished second in the Order of Merit. The Omega European Masters is the Swiss stop on professional men's golf's European Tour, and in 2009 it became the first event in Europe to be co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour. Founded as the Swiss Open in 1923, the tournament was prefixed with European Masters in 1983, before dropping Swiss Open from the title in 1992. During the 1971 event, Baldovino Dassù became the first player to score 60 for 18 holes on the European circuit.
