Jean-Claude Malbet
Jean-Claude Malbet (28 August 1937 – 10 July 2021) was a French international rugby union player and entrepreneur. He received both of his international caps against South Africa in 1967. His son Christophe Malbet is also a businessman and currently serving as the CEO of Ford Agent. Career He played for French club Sporting Union Agen Lot-et-Garonne and he was part of SU Agen Lot-et-Garonne side which won the French Rugby Union Championship titles in 1961-62, 1964–65 and 1965-66. He made his international debut against South Africa on 22 July 1967 in the tour of South Africa. After his retirement from rugby, he became a car salesman and later ventured into motor vehicle dealership. He also served as the CEO of the Ford Agent in France. SU Agen
Sporting Union Agen Lot-et-Garonne (), commonly referred to as SU Agen, Agen () or SUALG, is a French professional rugby union club based in Agen, Lot-et-Garonne that competes in the Pro D2, France's second division of rugby. Founded in 1908, Agen is one of the historic clubs in French rugby, having won the French Championship eight times. Its home ground is the 10,512-seat Stade Armandie and traditional club colours are navy blue and white. The club is renowned for its youth system and its academy structure. The Challenge Yves du Manoir was a rugby union club competition that was played in France between 1931 and 2003 under different names. It is named after former player Yves du Manoir. History The Challenge Yves du Manoir was officially created on September 21, 1931, by Racing Club de France with the support of two other clubs, CA Bègles and ASM Clermont Auvergne, AS Montferrand. In 1931, twelve breakaway clubs had decided to create their own league (UFRA, Union Française du Rugby Amateur) to protest against violence and covert professionalism which French rugby had sunk into, and which had resulted in the exclusion of France from the Six Nations Championship, Five Nations Tournament that year. Hooker (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players". Forwards compete for the ball in scrums and line-outs and are generally bigger and stronger than the backs. Props push in the scrums, while the hooker tries to secure the ball for their team by "hooking" it back with their heel.
