Jayson Terdiman (born December 21, 1988) is an American luger. Terdiman competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia where he finished 11th in the doubles luge competition with Christian Niccum. Following Niccum's retirement after the Olympics, Terdiman teamed up with Matthew Mortensen Matthew "Matt" Mortensen (born December 11, 1985) is an American luger who has been competing since 2000. East Stroudsburg is a borough in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located in the Poconos region of the state. Matthew "Matt" Mortensen (born December 11, 1985) is an American luger who has been competing since 2000. His best Luge World Cup season finish was silver in both the Lake Placid, United States, and Altenberg, Germany, World Cups in 2016–2017. Mortensen and teammate Jayson Terdiman finished the 2016–2017 season ranked 3rd internationally. Mortensen's best finish at the FIL World Luge Championships was 7th in the doubles event in Cesana, Italy, in 2011 and 2nd in the Team Relay event in the 2017 World Championships in Igls, Austria. He serves as an electrician in the 1156th Engineering Company of the New York Army National Guard, and is a member of the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program. Christian Niccum
Christian Elza Niccum (born January 27, 1978) is a retired American luger who has competed since 1996 on the World Cup tour. He was the alternate in 1998, coached for Canada in 2002, finished 23rd in the men's singles event at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. Four years later in Vancouver, he finished sixth in the men's doubles event. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia he finished 6th as part of the US team in the team relay and finished 11th in the doubles with Jayson Terdiman. Niccum's best finish at the FIL World Luge Championships was ninth in the men's singles event at Park City, Utah in 2005. In doubles his best finish was a 6th place in 2008 in Oberhof, Germany.
