Jaye Marie Green
Jaye Marie Green (born February 2, 1994) is an American professional golfer and member of the LPGA Tour. She won the 2011 Junior Solheim Cup, was a finalist at the 2012 U.S. Women's Amateur, tied for 5th at the 2019 U.S. Women's Open, and was runner-up at the 2019 Volunteers of America Classic. Amateur career Green grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and started playing golf at the age of 11. She competed in the 2008 and 2010 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links, the 2010 U.S. Girls' Junior and the 2010 U.S. Women's Open, after success in the sectional qualifier at Ormond Beach, Florida. In 2011, she was a member of the victorious U.S. Junior Solheim Cup team. She also competed in the Daytona Beach Invitational on the Symetra Tour, where she finished runner-up, one stroke behind Haru Nomura of Japan. World Amateur Golf Ranking
The World Amateur Golf Ranking for men was introduced by The R&A, the governing body of the sport of golf outside the United States and Mexico, on 23 January 2007. It is based on the results of over 2,600 amateur tournaments per year (and amateurs participating in certain professional events) and is updated each Wednesday. Rankings are based on the players' average performances in counting events over a rolling period. This period was 52 weeks initially but was gradually expanded during 2016 to 104 weeks, similar to those of the Official World Golf Ranking. Like the Official World Golf Ranking for male professional golfers, the amateur ranking was initiated by The R&A to provide a more reliable means of selecting an appropriate field for one of its tournaments. The Evian Championship
The Evian Championship, currently known for sponsorship reasons as The Amundi Evian Championship, is a women's professional golf tournament in France, played at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains. It was originally held in June, moved to July in 2003, and moved again to September in 2013. It returned to a July date in 2019. Founded in 1994 on the Ladies European Tour (LET) as the Evian Masters, it is one of two major championships on the LET. First held in 1955, it is one of five majors on the LPGA Tour. The Chevron Championship is a professional women's golf tournament. An event on the LPGA Tour, it is one of the tour's five major championships, and has traditionally been the first of the season since its elevation to major status in 1983. LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament
In professional golf, the term qualifying school is used for the annual qualifying tournaments for leading golf tours such as the U.S.-based PGA and LPGA Tours and the European Tour. A fixed number of players in the event win membership of the tour for the following season, otherwise known as a "tour card", meaning that they can play in most of the tour's events without having to qualify. They join the leaders on the previous year's money list/order of merit and certain other exempt players as members of the tour. Getting through the qualifying school of an elite tour is very competitive and most professional golfers never achieve it. There can be up to four stages to negotiate, each of them like a regular golf tournament with only a small number of players going on to the next stage.
