Jayden Campbell
Jayden Campbell (born 7 February 2000) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a for the Gold Coast Titans in the National Rugby League (NRL). Background Campbell was born in Cronulla, Sydney, New South Wales, into a family of Indigenous Australian (Kamilaroi) and Danish descent. In 2006, at six years of age, he moved with his family to the Gold Coast, Queensland, when his professional rugby league-playing father, Preston, became the first player to sign with the newly established Gold Coast Titans and was later honoured with the club's first ever Life Membership. The Campbell family also shares a relation with former Queensland captain Greg Inglis who is a cousin of theirs. Jayden played his junior rugby league on the Gold Coast for the Helensvale Hornets and attended Helensvale State High School throughout his upbringing. The Tweed Heads Seagulls, often referred to simply as Tweed or Seagulls or Tweed Seagulls, is a rugby league club based in Tweed Heads, New South Wales. It is one of only two non-Queensland teams to play in the Queensland Cup, along with the PNG Hunters. History Union beginnings Seagulls Football Club was established in 1908 and began competing in the Tweed District Rugby Union competition in 1909. The 2022 NRL season is the 115th season of professional rugby league in Australia and the 25th season run by the National Rugby League. Teams The lineup of teams remained unchanged for the 16th consecutive year. This became the second longest stretch of time (after 1947-1966 - 20 seasons) of a continuous line-up of teams in competition history (overtaking 1967-1981 - 15 seasons). Pre-season Pre-season matches were played between 12 February and 28 February 2022, before a 10-day lead up until the beginning of the regular season. It featured nineteen matches across three weekends, including the 2022 All Stars match, which was won by the Māori All Stars 16 – 10, and the annual Charity Shield match between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and St George Illawarra Dragons, which the Dragons won 16–10. The New Zealand Warriors are a professional rugby league football club based in Auckland, New Zealand that competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership and is the League's only team from outside Australia. They were formed in 1995 as the Auckland Warriors, and are officially known as the One New Zealand Warriors for sponsorship reasons. The Warriors are coached by Andrew Webster and captained by Tohu Harris. The Warriors are based at Mount Smart Stadium in the Auckland suburb of Penrose. For the 1995 season the newly formed Auckland Warriors became the first club from outside Australia to be admitted to the Australian Rugby League's premiership when it expanded from 16 to 20 teams.
