Jay Copeland
Jessica "Jay" Copeland is a fictional character on the New Zealand soap opera ''Shortland Street'' who was portrayed by Jaime Passier-Armstrong from mid-2004 to mid-2007. She was the show's first lesbian regular character and longtime love interest for Maia Jeffries (Anna Jullienne). Jay arrived to the show as the estranged daughter of established character - Victor Kahu (Calvin Tuteao). Closeted to her family, Jay had been dating her girlfriend Maia for months. What followed on screen was 3 years of an on-again, off-again romance storyline that would see the two become married, separated and Maia eventually widowed. ''Shortland Street'' is a New Zealand prime-time soap opera centring on the fictitious Shortland Street Hospital, first broadcast on TVNZ 2 on 25 May 1992. Joseph James "Joey" Henderson is a fictional character on the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street who was portrayed by Johnny Barker from mid 2007 to early 2008. Arriving in June 2007 as an eager yet awkward newbie nurse, Joey was a potential love interest for Claire Solomon ( Emily Robins). However Claire ended up murdered by an unknown assailant and for the next 6 months, ''Shortland Street'' underwent its largest and most dramatic whodunit storyline in its history. Alice Piper (7 June 1908 – 22 August 1985) was a Paiute (Nüümü) woman, who as a girl residing in Big Pine, California petitioned to attend the newly built Big Pine High School in 1923 and was denied entry due to her race. At that time, California educational law prohibited Native American children from attending a public school if a separate government run Indian school was established within three miles of the public school. Alice Piper along with six other Indian children sued the district for the right to attend. Jacob Tomuri (born 4 December 1979) is a New Zealand actor and stunt man. In 2000–2001 he appeared in over 50 twice-weekly episodes of the UK/NZ teen sci-fi series '' The Tribe'' as Lt. Luke. In 2001 he did stunt work for all three of ''The Lord of the Rings'' film trilogy. David Wikaira-Paul (born 30 January 1985) played Tama Hudson on New Zealand television series Shortland Street. Biography David joined the cast of Shortland Street in 2001 to play fresh-faced 14-year-old Tama Hudson, a high school student. David himself had already left school and completed a year of tertiary education at Northland Polytechnic. He graduated from the Polytechnic in 2000 with a Certificate in Applied Arts, Music and Drama, having played the lead role in their production of Te Ngaru Nui.
