Jaume Alonso-Cuevillas
Jaume Alonso-Cuevillas i Sayrol (born 22 November 1961) is a Spaniards, Spanish academic, lawyer and politician from Catalonia who currently serves as Member of the Parliament of Catalonia for the pro-Catalan independence movement, independence party Together for Catalonia (2020), Together for Catalonia and as Board of the Parliament of Catalonia, Second Secretary of the Parliament of Catalonia. He previously served as Member of the Congress of Deputies of Spain between May 2019 and March 2021. Early life Alonso-Cuevillas was born on 22 November 1961 in Barcelona, Catalonia. He is the son and brother of lawyers. He has a diploma in Catalan civil law (1984) and bachelor's degree in law (1985) from the University of Barcelona. Parliament Of Catalonia
The Parliament of Catalonia ( ca, Parlament de Catalunya, ; es, Parlamento de Cataluña; oc, Parlament de Catalonha) is the unicameral legislature of the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The Parliament is currently made up of 135 members, known as deputies (''diputats''/''deputats''/''diputados''), who are elected for four-year terms or after extraordinary dissolution, chosen by universal suffrage in lists of four constituencies, corresponding to the Catalan provinces. ''Catalonia Today'' is a monthly English-language magazine and website with news of Catalonia. It has been linked from the outset with ''El Punt Avui'' group, with whom it shares content. History and profile The project began in 2004 as a free newspaper with the momentum of journalist and politician Carles Puigdemont, and the Barcelona correspondent of ''The Times'', Stephen Burgen. By 2010 it had a circulation of 15,000 copies and more than 4,500 subscribers. Together For Catalonia (2017)
Together for Catalonia ( ca, Junts per Catalunya, JxCat, also JuntsxCat) was an electoral and parliamentary alliance in Catalonia, registered as a political party in the interior ministry in July 2018, originally envisaged as a platform comprising the Catalan European Democratic Party (PDeCAT), successor of the late Democratic Convergence of Catalonia (CDC), and independents and centered around the candidacy of former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont ahead of the 2017 Catalan regional election. Carles Puigdemont i Casamajó (; born 29 December 1962) is a Catalan politician and journalist from Spain. Since 2019 he has served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP).
