Mirosława Jastrzębska, née Kwiatkowska (born 21 March 1921 in Gąbin, Poland; died 24 October 1982) was a Polish scientist, ethnographer, and museum curator. She graduated from the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in ethnography and ethnology and in 1951 under the guidance of she defended her Masters thesis ''Folk architecture in the village of Smolanka, poviat Łuków'' (''Budownictwo ludowe we wsi Smolanka, pow. Łuków''). After that she worked at various museums. As a researcher, she was mainly interested in annual and family folk rituals and folk art. Michael Andrew Yastrzemski (; born August 23, 1990), nicknamed "Yaz", is an American professional baseball outfielder for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). Carl Michael Yastrzemski ( ; nicknamed "Yaz"; born August 22, 1939) is an American former Major League Baseball player. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989. Steve Vincent Jastrzembski (August 27, 1939 – January 14, 2009) was an American football end who played college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers. He was selected in both the 1961 NFL Draft and 1962 AFL Draft, but did not play professionally. Early life and education Jastrzembski was born on August 27, 1939, in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania. He attended Vandergrift High School, graduating in 1957, before joining the University of Pittsburgh. During his first two years with the team, he did not see much action and was a backup end. He developed into one of the favorite targets of quarterback Ivan Toncic in 1959, along with future Pro Football Hall of Famer Mike Ditka, who also played the end position. Nikolaus Von Falkenhorst
Paul Nikolaus von Falkenhorst (17 January 1885 – 18 June 1968) was a German general and a war criminal during World War II. He planned and commanded the German invasion of Denmark and Norway in 1940, and was commander of German troops during the occupation of Norway from 1940 to 1944. After the war, Falkenhorst was tried by a joint British-Norwegian military tribunal for war crimes. He was convicted and sentenced to death in 1946. The sentence was later commuted to twenty years' imprisonment. Falkenhorst was released in 1953 and died in 1968. Career Falkenhorst was born in Breslau (now Wrocław, Poland). He joined the army in 1903 and served in World War I in regimental and staff roles, including a stint in Finland. Stanisław Jastrzębski is a Polish writer, lawyer and historian. Early life He was born in the village of Bubło, Rohatyn County, in Stanisławów Voivodeship (currently Ukraine). Jastrzębski is a survivor of the World War II massacres of Poles in Volhynia, during which he witnessed the UPA murder of his family. Following Nazi and Soviet invasions of Poland, Jastrzębski was a soldier of Armia Krajowa and member of the Polish self-defence unit in Stanisławów, where he fought against OUN- UPA pacification raids.
