Jason Montgomery
Jason Montgomery is a Canadian curler from Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia. Montgomery is a former provincial junior champion. He skipped British Columbia at the 2003 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. His team of Cliff Carr-Hilton, Miles Craig and Will Duggan placed 4th (8-4), and they lost in the tiebreaker game to Alberta. Montgomery skipped the British Columbia team at the 2010 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. His team which included Sarah Wark, Will Duggan and Nicole Montgomery finished with an 8-3 round robin record, losing in the semi-final to Ontario. Victoria Curling Club
The Victoria Curling Club was founded as the club signed a lease for land with the City of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in 1950. However, construction did not commence until 1952 as material shortages from the Korean War had caused delays. Still the Victoria Curling Club opened in February 1953 with eight sheets of ice. 2010 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship
The 2010 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship was held Nov. 14-21, 2009 at the Burlington Golf and Country Club in Burlington, Ontario. Nova Scotia won its seventh Mixed title, and Skip (curling), skip Mark Dacey won his second title with then-wife, Heather Smith-Dacey as his Glossary of curling#Mate, mate who won her third. The team's front end of Andrew Gibson (curler), Andrew Gibson and Jill Mouzar won their first mixed title. Dacey and Smith-Dacey were scheduled to represent Canada at the 2010 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, but were not able to make it to the event due to the 2010 eruptions of Eyjafjallajökull. Red Deer Curling Classic
The Prism Flow Red Deer Curling Classic is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, that takes place at the Red Deer Curling Club in Red Deer, Alberta. The tournament is held in a triple-knockout format. The men's tournament started in 1992 as a skins tournament. The women's tournament started in 1999 as a separate event held a few weeks earlier and merged with the men's event in 2007. The event was held as a World Curling Tour event until 2019 and has been held nearly every year since 2007. Curlers from Alberta have dominated the event on both sides since its inception. The event counts toward the Canadian Team Ranking System, which hands out points based on performances at CTRS events and deals with qualification to the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials. The World Curling Tour (WCT) is a group of curling bonspiels featuring the best male, female, and mixed doubles curlers in the world. History The World Curling Tour was founded by former World Champion Ed Lukowich, with later assistance from John Kawaja. The World Curling Tour commenced in 1992, with men's events only at first. It replaced the "Canadian Curling Tour" held the previous season. The first season consisted of 48 events (with only one outside Canada), and was sponsored by Seagram's distillery. Sarah Wark (born February 17, 1986 in Winnipeg) is a Canadian curler from Chilliwack, British Columbia. She currently skips her own team out of Abbotsford. Career As a junior curler, Wark and her team of Darah Provencal, Stephanie Jackson and Sarah Neal won the provincial championship in 2005. The team represented British Columbia at the 2005 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, where they would finish with a 6–6 record. After juniors, Wark would win two provincial mixed titles, in 2009 playing third for Jason Montgomery and in 2014 as third for Wes Craig. Her win in 2009 qualified her team to represent B.C. at the 2010 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, where they would lose in the semi-final to Ontario. 2003 Canadian Junior Curling Championships
The 2003 Kärcher Canadian Junior Curling Championships were held February 1–9 at the Rideau and Ottawa Curling Clubs in Ottawa. Teams from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan won both the men's and women's event. Both teams would go on to win gold medals for Canada at the 2003 World Junior Curling Championships.
