Jason DeSantis
Jason DeSantis (born March 9, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman who was most recently with Esbjerg Energy in Denmark's Metal Ligaen. He previously played with Nottingham Panthers of the British Elite Ice Hockey League and EC VSV of the Austrian Hockey League (EBEL). Playing career Prior to turning professional, DeSantis went undrafted playing collegiate hockey at Ohio State University of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. After a breakout 2011–12 season in the AHL scoring 43 points in 66 games with the St. John's IceCaps, he was signed as a free agent to his first NHL contract on a one-year, two-way deal with the Florida Panthers on June 14, 2012. Esbjerg Energy
The Esbjerg Energy is a Denmark, Danish professional ice hockey team based in Esbjerg, Denmark, playing in the Metal Ligaen, the top tier of Danish ice hockey. The club was founded in 2005 and play their home games in the Granly Hockey Arena which has a capacity of 4,200 spectators. Until 2004 the team played under the name of Esbjerg IK, E.I.K. (Esbjerg Ishockey Klub), but due to financial instability at the club, the professional license was transferred to Esbjerg fB. Defenceman
Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone). Liiga
The SM-liiga (marketed as just Liiga from 2013 on), (Finnish for ''League'') colloquially called the Finnish Elite League in English or FM-ligan in Swedish, is the top professional ice hockey league in Finland. It is one of the six founding leagues of the Champions Hockey League and currently allocated five spots - the maximum number - based on success in previous editions. It was created in 1975 to replace the SM-sarja, which was fundamentally an amateur league. HIFK, the Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna, Helsingfors (IFK, Helsingfors) rf (officially abbreviated IFK Helsingfors, colloquially often Helsingfors IFK or Helsingin IFK ) is a multi-sport association based in Helsinki, Finland. The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary Minor league#Ice hockey, developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Brendon Nash
Brendon Gregory Nash (born March 31, 1987) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He last played for the Graz 99ers of the Austrian Hockey League (EBEL). Brendon is the brother of Riley Nash. Playing career After completing his collegiate career with Cornell University in the ECAC, on March 30, 2010, he was signed as a free agent by the Montreal Canadiens to a two-year entry-level contract. In the following 2010–11 season, on February 15, 2011, the Canadiens recalled Nash from their AHL affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs, for two games. The Florida Panthers are a professional ice hockey team based in the Miami metropolitan area. Central Collegiate Hockey Association
The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) is a college athletic conference that participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. The current CCHA began play in the 2021–22 season; a previous incarnation, which the current CCHA recognizes as part of its history, existed from 1971 to 2013. Half of its members are located in the state of Michigan, with additional members in Minnesota and Ohio. It has also had teams located in Alaska, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Nebraska over the course of its existence.
