Jason Daniel
Jason Daniel is an Australian writer and producer with extensive experience working in TV drama. Biography Daniel was a journalist before becoming a writer and story editor on '' Neighbours'', after which he created a number of long-running TV series around the world, including the first daily serials in New Zealand, Sweden, Finland and Hungary. In the early 1990s Daniel moved to New Zealand to set up ''Shortland Street'' as a story editor. He then worked in Europe for a number of years, creating long-running series in Germany, Sweden, Finland and Hungary - including "Worlds Apart" (Sweden), ''Salatut elämät'' (Finland), ''Between Friends'' (Hungary) and ''In Search of Paradise'' (Germany). In 2002 he was appointed head of drama development at Fremantle Media. Daniel also worked in Asia and Africa and the US, before returning to ''Shortland Street'' as producer from 2005 to 2008. Neighbours
''Neighbours'' is an Australian television soap opera, which has aired since 18 March 1985. It was created by television executive Reg Watson. The Seven Network commissioned the show following the success of Watson's earlier soap '' Sons and Daughters.'' Although successful in Melbourne, ''Neighbours'' underperformed in the Sydney market and was cancelled by Seven four months after it began airing. It was immediately commissioned by rival Network Ten for a second production season, which began screening on 20 January 1986. ''Shortland Street'' is a New Zealand prime-time soap opera centring on the fictitious Shortland Street Hospital, first broadcast on TVNZ 2 on 25 May 1992. It is New Zealand's longest-running drama and soap opera, being broadcast continuously for over 7,500 episodes and 30 years, and is one of the most watched television programmes in New Zealand. Salatut Elämät
''Salatut elämät'' ("Secret Lives", literally "Concealed Lives") is a Finnish television soap opera that premiered on MTV3 on 25 January 1999. The series' storylines follow the daily lives of several families who live in the same apartment block in Helsinki. The series primarily centres on the residents of Pihlajakatu and its neighbouring areas. Only six of the original twenty characters Ismo ( Esko Kovero), Kalle (Pete Lattu), Ulla (Maija-Liisa Peuhu), Aki ( Sami Uotila), Kari ( Tommi Taurula) and Elina ( Inna Tähkänen, originally played by Sanna Luostarinen) still remain in the series, and most of the series' current characters have made their debuts in 2014 or later. Ferndale Strangler
Joseph James "Joey" Henderson is a fictional character on the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street who was portrayed by Johnny Barker from mid 2007 to early 2008. Arriving in June 2007 as an eager yet awkward newbie nurse, Joey was a potential love interest for Claire Solomon (Emily Robins). However Claire ended up murdered by an unknown assailant and for the next 6 months, ''Shortland Street'' underwent its largest and most dramatic whodunit storyline in its history. After 5 characters were killed off at the hands of a serial killer dubbed "The Ferndale Strangler", Joey was finally unveiled as the murderer in a dramatic season cliffhanger that saw Joey attempt to murder fan favourite, Tania Jeffries ( Faye Smythe). ''Home and Away'' (often abbreviated as ''H&A'') is an Australian television soap opera. It was created by Alan Bateman and commenced broadcast on the Seven Network on 17 January 1988. Bateman came up with the concept of the show during a trip to Kangaroo Point, New South Wales, where he noticed locals were complaining about the construction of a foster home and against the idea of foster children from the city living in the area. The soap opera was initially going to be called ''Refuge'', but the name was changed to the "friendlier" title of ''Home and Away'' once production began. Darryl Braxton
Darryl "Brax" Braxton is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera ''Home and Away'', played by Steve Peacocke. He made his first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 16 February 2011. The character was created and introduced along with his two brothers; Heath (Dan Ewing) and Casey ( Lincoln Younes). The trio were nicknamed The River Boys and were inspired by the real life Bra Boys group. When Peacocke learnt about the role of Brax, he initially thought he would not suit the part as he is from the country. However, after learning more about the character, Peacocke successfully auditioned for the role.
