Jason DaSilva
Jason DaSilva (born July 26, 1978) is an American documentary film director, producer, writer, and disability rights activist best known for the Emmy Award-winning documentary, ''When I Walk''. The Emmy award-winning film follows his diagnosis of primary progressive multiple sclerosis for seven years as he progresses from cane, to walker, to wheelchair. He is also the founder of the non-profit organization AXS Lab and of AXS Map, a crowd sourced Google map based platform which rates the accessibility of businesses. Early life DaSilva was born in Dayton, Ohio, the older brother of siblings Leigh and Daniel. His mother, Marianne D'Souza, grew up in Nakuru, Kenya, and is of Goan descent. She came to the United States to go to New York University in 1970. DaSilva's father, Ed DaSilva, whose family is also from Goa, lived in Uganda but moved to Ohio to go to the University of Dayton. ''When I Walk'' is a 2013 autobiographical documentary film directed by Jason DaSilva. The film follows DaSilva during the seven years following his diagnosis of Multiple sclerosis#Types and variants, primary progressive multiple sclerosis. Randy Paul Gage (born April 6, 1959) is an American author and motivational speaker. He is known for writing self-help books and lectures on success and prosperity. Early life and education Gage was raised by his mother. After being charged with armed robbery at age 15 to fund a drug deal, he was expelled from Madison West High School and served time in juvenile jail. Released on probation in 1975, he moved to Miami, Florida and worked as a dishwasher in a Pancake house on minimum wage, becoming a manager at the age of 16.
