Jason Cunliffe
Jason Ryan Quitugua Cunliffe (born 23 October 1983) is a Guamanian footballer who plays as a striker and midfielder for Bank of Guam Strykers in the Guam Soccer League, and is the current captain of Guam. Youth and club career Cunliffe first played for Guam’s Tumon Soccer Club at the age of five. He was part of the Houston Texans team that won two youth national championships in 2001 and 2002, and was part of the 2001 Texans team that won the Brazil Cup. Cunliffe played for the NCAA Division I men’s soccer team, the Santa Clara University Broncos, including playing for its 2003 team that competed in the NCAA Final Four. From 2010 to 2012, he played for Guam Shipyard in the Guam Men's Soccer League. In 2012, he signed for Philippine side Pachanga in the United Football League. After his stint with the Philippine club, Cunliffe returned home to Guam to join Rovers FC. He played for the Rovers from 2013 to 2018, including the 2017 AFC Cup playoff qualifiers. Guam Men's Soccer League
Guam Soccer League (GSL) is the men's top level professional football league of the Guam Football Association in the United States territory of Guam. Since 2004, the GSL has had two levels, ''Division 1'' and ''Division 2.'' Since 2007, the league has adopted a longer season that starts in the fall and ends in the spring. Previously the GSL was divided into ''Spring'' and ''Fall'' seasons. Yona, Guam
Yona ( ch, Yoʼña ) is a village in the United States territory of Guam. History Yona was historically a farming community but today is mostly residential. During World War II, the Japanese forced the indigenous Chamorros to march from camps in northern Guam to prison camps in Yona shortly before the Americans liberated the island. Japanese tanks in the area near the Segua River serve as reminders of the war. Today, the LeoPalace Resort is located in the Manenggon Hills. The LeoPalace Resort is also used for association football. Geography The village of Yona has an area of and is located on the eastern side of Guam between Pago River and Togcha River. 2019 EAFF E-1 Football Championship
The 2019 EAFF E-1 Football Championship was the 8th edition of the EAFF E-1 Football Championship, an international football tournament for East Asian countries and territories organized by the EAFF. 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification (OFC)
The Oceanian section of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification acted as qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Qatar, for national teams which are members of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC). A total of 0.5 slots in the final tournament were available for OFC teams, which equated to one inter-confederation play-off slot. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Oceania, the qualification was held as a centralised tournament in Qatar from 17 to 30 March 2022. Format In November 2021, the OFC confirmed the format for the qualifiers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The qualifying stage was to be a single match on 13 March 2022 between the two lowest-ranked participating OFC nations in the FIFA World Rankings, with the winner advancing to the group stage, but Tonga withdrew from the qualification match causing Cook Islands to automatically enter the group stage. The Bhutan national football team represents Bhutan in international men's association football, football. The team is controlled by the governing body for football in Bhutan, the Bhutan Football Federation, which is a member of the Asian Football Federation and the regional body the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). Northern Mariana Islands National Football Team
The Northern Mariana Islands national football team represents the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands in international men's football. The team is controlled by the governing body for football in the Northern Mariana Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association, which is a member of the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) and since December 2020 a full member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The association is not a member of the world governing body FIFA, although it had applied for membership, and so while the national team is eligible to enter AFC and EAFF-run competitions, they are currently ineligible for global competitions such as the FIFA World Cup. Bangladesh National Football Team
The Bangladesh national football team ( bn, বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় ফুটবল দল) is the national recognised football team of Bangladesh and is controlled by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF). It is a member of the Asian Football Confederation, and became a member of FIFA in 1974, even though the Bangladesh Football Federation was first founded in 1972. Bangladesh was elected as a member of the AFC Executive Committee in 1982–1986 and 1998–2002. 2006 AFC Challenge Cup
The 2006 AFC Challenge Cup was held between 1 and 16 April 2006 in Bangladesh. Sixteen teams were split into four groups, the top two in each group qualifying for the quarterfinals, and from then on a straight knockout contest. There was no qualification stage. The cup winner was Tajikistan. The fair play award was won by Sri Lanka and Tajikistani Ibrahim Rabimov won the most valuable player award. Selection of teams The AFC classed seventeen nations as ''emerging associations'', which need time to develop their football. They were selected in August 2005 to take part.
