Collegiate career In 1996, he won the Washington Huskies football, Washington Huskies' season award for the defensive L. Wait Rising Lineman Of Year, Pacific-10 Conference's Pacific-12 Conference football awards, Defensive Player of the Year and 1996 College Football All-America Team, College Football All-America Team (by The Sporting News and Football News). Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played.
