Jason Bajada
Jason Bajada is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Montreal, Quebec. Bajada released two albums, ''Puer Dolor'' in 2005 and ''Up Go the Arms'' in 2006, before signing to Maple Music Recordings/Universal, with whom he released his label debut ''Loveshit'' in 2009. He followed up in 2011 with ''The Sound Your Life Makes'', which reached number 57 on the Canadian Albums Chart. In addition to his English material, Bajada has released two French albums. ''Le résultat de mes bêtises'' was released in September 2013 during the Pop Montreal festival, and his follow-up, entitled ''Volcano'', was released in February 2016. ''Volcano'' received a Prix Félix nomination for Best Adult Contemporary Album at the 38th Felix Awards. Ask The Dust
''Ask the Dust'' is the most popular novel of Italian-American author John Fante, first published in 1939 and set during the Great Depression era in Los Angeles. It is one of a series of novels featuring the character Arturo Bandini as Fante's alter ego, a young Italian-American from Colorado struggling to make it as a writer in Los Angeles. The novel is widely regarded as an American classic, regularly on college syllabi for American literature. The book is a ''roman à clef'', much of it rooted in autobiographical incidents in Fante's life. The novel influenced Charles Bukowski significantly. In 2006, screenwriter Robert Towne adapted the novel into a film, ''Ask the Dust'', starring Salma Hayek and Colin Farrell. The Church (band)
The Church are an Australian Rock music, rock band formed in Sydney in 1980. Initially associated with New wave music, new wave, neo-psychedelia, and indie rock, their music later came to feature slower tempos and surreal soundscapes reminiscent of dream pop and post-rock. Glenn A. Baker has written that "From the release of the 'She Never Said' single in November 1980, this unique Sydney-originated entity has purveyed a distinctive, ethereal, psychedelic-tinged sound which has alternatively found favour and disfavour in Australia." The ''Los Angeles Times'' has described the band's music as "dense, shimmering, exquisite guitar pop". Arthur Higelin (born 27 March 1966), better known under his stage name Arthur H (), is a French pianist, songwriter and singer. He is best known in France for his live performances—four of his albums were recorded live. Life and career He is the son of the French singer Jacques Higelin and Nicole Courtois, and half brother of singers Izïa Higelin and stage and film actor, theatre director and music video director Kên Higelin. Patrick Krief is a Canadian musician and singer-songwriter, most noted as a former guitarist for The Dears. In 2004 he appeared on MTV Canada's ''Project Moose Catch''. Robert Charlebois, OC, OQ (born June 25, 1944) is a Québecois author, composer, musician, performer and actor. Charlebois was born in Montreal, Quebec. Among his best known songs are ''Lindberg'' (the duo with Louise Forestier in particular), ''Ordinaire'', ''Les Ailes d'un Ange'' and ''Je reviendrai à Montréal''. Dumas (born Steve Dumas) is a Canadian musician a from Victoriaville, Quebec. Career Dumas released his first album ''Dumas'' in 2001, when he was 21. His second album, ''Le cours des jours'', made him more well-known. The album includes contributions from Marie-Annick Lépine from the group Les Cowboys Fringants on two songs. In 2004, Carl Bastien and Dumas released the soundtrack to the film ''Les Aimants'' by Yves P. Pelletier. Dumas' 2012 album ''L'heure et l'endroit'' debuted at number 11 on the Canadian Albums Chart. Joseph Arthur (born September 28, 1971) is an American singer-songwriter and artist from Akron, Ohio. He is best known for his solo material, and as a member of Fistful of Mercy and RNDM. The Lemonheads
The Lemonheads are an American alternative rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1986 by Evan Dando, Ben Deily, and Jesse Peretz. Dando has remained the band's only constant member. After their initial punk-influenced releases and tours as an independent/college rock band in the late 1980s, the Lemonheads' popularity with a mass audience grew in 1992 with the major label album ''It's a Shame about Ray'', which was produced, engineered, and mixed by The Robb Brothers (Bruce Robb, Dee, and Joe). This was followed by a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson", which eventually became one of the band's most successful singles.
