Jasin District
Jasin District is one of the three administrative district in Malacca, Malaysia. It borders Tangkak District of Johor to the east, Tampin District of Negeri Sembilan to the north and Alor Gajah District and Melaka Tengah District to the west. The district capital is Jasin Town. History The early establishment of Jasin started since the establishment of small settlement by the local people. They chose an area near river mainly for their water supply, communication and agricultural purpose. To sustain life, they planted paddy and grew vegetables and fruit. Geography Jasin District is the largest district in Malacca occupying 41.47% of the state area. The Kesang River runs through the center of Jasin Town. The Kesang River separates the new town from the old town center. Almost 75% of the district area is flat plain, located not more than 50 meters above sea level. Jasin is a town and the seat of Jasin District in the Malaysian state of Malacca. It is governed by Jasin Municipal Council ( ms, Majlis Perbandaran Jasin), which was formerly known as Jasin District Council ( ms, Majlis Daerah Jasin) from 1 July 1978 until 1 January 2007 and the Jasin Rural District Council ( ms, Majlis Daerah Luar Bandar Jasin) from 23 August 1957 until 1 July 1978. Jasin is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Rypin, within Rypin County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. History During the German occupation of Poland (World War II), in 1941, the German gendarmerie, ''Einsatzkompanie Thorn'' and ''Einsatzkompanie Gotenhafen'' carried out expulsions of Poles, whose houses and farms were then handed over to German colonists as part of the ''Lebensraum'' policy. Jasin, Tanzania
Jassini is a village on the northeastern border of Tanzania. As of 1999, the village was not accessible by motorized vehicles. In the mid-1990s, the village had a population of less than 300 composed of 30 households. Pre-Colonial and Colonial History Prior to German colonization, the village of Jassini was home to the WaDigo who often fought with the Maasai. Jassini became part of German East Africa as a result of the Scramble for Africa, and the influence of German colonization was felt in Jassini in the mid 1890s when colonists pacified the region, ending conflicts between the WaDigo and the Maasai. The Germans, and later the British, introduced roads, schools, hospitals, and sisal plantations to the region. By December 1914, during World War I, British forces from British East Africa occupied the Jassini plantation.
