Jashodaben Modi
Jashodaben Modi (''née'' Jashodaben Chimanlal Modi; born 1951) is a retired Indian school teacher. She is the estranged wife of Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India. The couple were married in 1968 when she was about 17 and Modi was 18. A short time into the marriage, her husband abandoned her. He did not acknowledge the marriage publicly until he was legally required to do so prior to the 2014 Indian general elections. Having retired from teaching, Jashodaben is said to lead a simple life of prayer. Early life, marriage, and career Jashodaben was born as Jashodaben Chimanlal Modi in 1951. Her mother died when she was two years old. Narendra Modi and Jashodaben had an arranged marriage in the custom of the caste of Vadnagar, starting with a family-arranged betrothal in their very early childhood. Vadnagar is a town and municipality in the Mehsana district of the state of Gujarat in India. It just about 35 km from Mehsana city. Its ancient name was Anartapura, and was also known as Anandapura. It was a Buddhist location visited by Xuanzang in 640 C.E. Historian and archaeologist Alexander Cunningham has identified Anandapura with the town of Vadnagar. Vadodara (), also known as Baroda, is the second largest city in the Indian state of Gujarat. It serves as the administrative headquarters of the Vadodara district and is situated on the banks of the Vishwamitri River, from the state capital of Gandhinagar. 2014 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India in nine phases from 7 April to 12 May 2014 to elect the members of the 16th Lok Sabha. With 834 million registered voters, they were the largest-ever elections in the world until being surpassed by the 2019 Indian general election, 2019 elections. Around 23.1 million or 2.7% of the total eligible voters were aged 18–19 years. A total of 8,251 candidates contested the 543 elected Lok Sabha seats. The average election turnout over all nine phases was around 66.40%, the highest ever in the history of Indian general elections. A tenement is a type of building shared by multiple dwellings, typically with flats or apartments on each floor and with shared entrance stairway access. They are common on the British Isles, particularly in Scotland.
