Jarinko Chie
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Etsumi Haruki. It was serialized by Futabasha in ''Manga Action'' between 1978 and 1997 and collected in 67 bound volumes, making it the 45th longest manga released. ''Jarinko Chie'' received the 1981 Shogakukan Manga Award for general manga. ''Jarinko Chie'' was adapted twice, first as an anime theatrical film produced by Tokyo Movie Shinsha and Toho and directed by Isao Takahata was a Japanese director, screenwriter and producer. A co-founder of Studio Ghibli, he earned international critical acclaim for his work as a director of Japanese animated feature films. Shogakukan
is a Japanese publisher of dictionaries, literature, comics (manga), non-fiction, DVDs, and other media in Japan. Shogakukan founded Shueisha, which also founded Hakusensha. These are three separate companies, but are together called the Hitotsubashi Group, one of the largest publishing groups in Japan. Shogakukan is headquartered in the Shogakukan Building in Hitotsubashi, part of Kanda, Chiyoda, Tokyo, near the Jimbocho book district. The corporation also has the other two companies located in the same ward.
