Jardin Géo-botanique
The Jardin géo-botanique (1.3 hectares) is a municipal botanical garden located at 1, Place Mathias, Chalon-sur-Saône, Saône-et-Loire, Bourgogne, France. It is open daily without charge. The garden was established in 1953 by the Society of Natural History and Mycology of Saône-et-Loire under the active direction of its president, Dr. Gilbert Durand, and has been maintained by the city since 1959. Granite
Granite () is a coarse-grained (phaneritic) intrusive igneous rock composed mostly of quartz, alkali feldspar, and plagioclase. It forms from magma with a high content of silica and alkali metal oxides that slowly cools and solidifies underground. It is common in the continental crust of Earth, where it is found in igneous intrusions. ''Fuchsia'' () is a genus of flowering plants that consists mostly of shrubs or small trees. The first to be scientifically described, ''Fuchsia triphylla'', was discovered on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic) about 1696–1697 by the French Minim monk and botanist, Charles Plumier, during his third expedition to the Greater Antilles.
