Japan Railway Journal is a TV program from NHK World TV documenting rail transport in Japan that started broadcasting on March 8, 2015. Overview The program showcases the charm and the cutting-edge technology of rail transport in Japan. New episodes are broadcast 1 to 2 times a month. At first, many of the talking sections were filmed in a bar with a train diorama, "Bar Ginza Panorama" in Shinjuku. Now, filming these sections on-location at the featured rail facilities is more common. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NHK World has been showing ''Japan Railway Journal'' repeats in lieu of new episodes. The combination of studio presentation and on-site reporting makes it difficult for video production. The is a DC electric multiple unit (EMU) commuter and suburban train type operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East). The commuter variant was introduced on Yamanote Line services in November 2015, and the suburban variant entered service on the Sōbu Rapid and Yokosuka Lines on 21 December 2020. The original Umekoji Steam Locomotive Museum opened in 1972, but was expanded and modernized in 2016, becoming the Kyoto Railway Museum. The is a DC tilting electric multiple unit (EMU) train operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) in Japan on limited express services on the Chuo Main Line since December 2017. A pre-series train, consisting of one nine-car set (set S101) and one three-car set (set S201), was delivered in July 2015 for performance testing. Tama (cat)
was a female calico cat who gained fame for being a station master and operating officer at Kishi Station (Wakayama), Kishi Station on the Kishigawa Line in Kinokawa, Wakayama, Kinokawa, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. Early life Tama was born in Kinokawa, Wakayama, and was raised with a group of Feral organism, stray cats that used to live close to Kishi Station. They were regularly fed by passengers and by Toshiko Koyama, the informal station manager at the time. Career The station was near closure in 2004 because of financial problems on the rail line. Around this time, Koyama adopted Tama. Eventually the decision to close the station was withdrawn after the citizens demanded it to stay open. The is an electric multiple unit (EMU) train type operated by Japanese private railway operator Kintetsu Railway for use on luxury ''Shimakaze'' limited express services since March 2013. The SCMaglev (superconducting maglev, formerly called the MLU) is a magnetic levitation (maglev) railway system developed by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) and the Railway Technical Research Institute.
