Janson is a Charleroi Metro station, located in downtown Charleroi, Belgium, in fare zone 1. It is an underground station featuring a central platform, with street access at both ends. Interior decoration, designed by architect Jean Yernaux, is themed around the Belgian comics characters from Dupuis Publishing, a well-known Belgian comics publishing company based in Marcinelle (part of the Charleroi municipality). Charleroi Metro
Charleroi Metro (french: Métro de Charleroi; previously known as the ''Charleroi Premetro'' (french: Métro léger de Charleroi)) is a light rail network in Belgium, consisting of a loop line around central Charleroi and three branches towards the suburbs of Gilly, Anderlues and Gosselies. Another branch to Châtelet (historically, the third one) was partially built but never entered service. The current system was opened in seven phases ranging from 1976 to 2012, which included 28 stations, of which 24 were in service along with 6 regular tram stops in Anderlues. On 22 June 2013, 18 more stations were added to the metro system when line M3 to Gosselies went into service. The original plans for the network were much more extensive with 8 branches radiating from the central loop, but had to be abandoned due to high costs and low prospective ridership rates. Éditions Dupuis S.A. () is a Belgium, Belgian publisher of comic albums and magazines. Based in Marcinelle near Charleroi, Dupuis was founded in 1922 by Jean Dupuis, and is mostly famous for its comic comics album, albums and magazines. It is originally a French language publisher, but publishes many editions both in French and Dutch language, Dutch. Other language editions are mostly licensed to other publishers. Dupuis was for a long time a family business but was sold in the early 1980s and has since changed ownership a few times. Marcinelle
Marcinelle (; wa, Mårcinele) is a town of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Charleroi, located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. Until 1977, it was a municipality of its own. Home of the comics publisher Dupuis, as many popular creators of Franco-Belgian comics were based in Marcinelle the town has given name to the famous drawing style known as the Marcinelle school. Les Femmes en Blanc (Women in white) is a Belgian comics humor series of 42 album volumes, for which the script was created by Raoul Cauvin and whose design was directed by Philippe Bercovici. Colours were done by Leonardo. The series debuted in 1981 in the Belgian comic book magazine '' Spirou'' and the first volume was released in 1986. Synopsis The setting of the series is a field hospital. The series deals with the troubles of nurses in a humorous and sometimes ironic, sometimes comic fashion. A series of short stories with a title are illustrated, and usually deal with some foible, with a medical problem or quirk. The Daltons (Lucky Luke)
Joe, William, Jack and Averell Dalton, known together as The Daltons or the Dalton brothers, are fictional characters in the ''Lucky Luke'' Western comics series. Four brothers and outlaws acting as the most recurring enemies to protagonist Lucky Luke, they were created by artist Morris and writer René Goscinny. ''Yoko Tsuno'' is a comics album series created by the Belgian writer Roger Leloup published by Dupuis in '' Spirou'' magazine since its debut in 1970. Through thirty volumes, the series tell the adventures of Yoko Tsuno, a female electrical engineer of Japanese origin surrounded by her close friends, Vic Video and Pol Pitron (see Yoko Tsuno characters).
