Johannes Hendrik Stander (born 8 September 1993 in George, South Africa) is a South African rugby union player who last played for the . His regular position is lock. Career Youth At high school level, Stander was selected to represent the at Under-16 level at the 2009 Grant Khomo Week and at Under-18 level at the 2011 Academy Week. Golden Lions After finishing high school, Stander moved to Johannesburg to join the academy prior to the 2012 season. He featured in all thirteen of the side's matches during the 2012 Under-19 Provincial Championship; he scored one try against his former side in their 46–5 victory in George and scored a hat-trick in the return leg between the sides in an 83–3 victory in Johannesburg. The 2014 Currie Cup Premier Division was the 76th season in the competition since it started in 1889 and was contested from 9 August to 25 October 2014. Super Rugby is a men's professional rugby union club competition involving teams from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. The World Rugby Under 20 Championship (known as the IRB Junior World Championship until 2014) is an international rugby union competition. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, World Rugby, and is contested by 12 men's junior national teams with an under-20 age requirement. This event replaced the IRB's former age-grade world championships, the Under 19 and Under 21 World Championships. The South Africa national under-20 rugby union team (nicknamed the Junior Boks or the Baby Boks) are South Africa's junior team at national level. They have been competing in the World Rugby Under 20 Championship (formerly the IRB Junior World Championship) since its inception in 2008. Welkom
Welkom () is the second-largest city in the Free State province of South Africa, located about northeast of Bloemfontein which is the provincial capital. Welkom is also known as Circle City, City Within A Garden, Mvela and Matjhabeng. The city's Sesotho name, ''Matjhabeng'' means 'where nations meet', derived from the migrant labour system, where people of various countries such as Lesotho, Malawi and Mozambique etc. met to work in the mines of the gold fields. A settlement was laid out on a farm named "Welkom" (which is the Afrikaans and Dutch word for "welcome") after gold was discovered in the region, and it was officially proclaimed a town in 1948.
