Janismo
Janismo is a political behavior and ideology often attributed to Jânio Quadros, the 22nd President of Brazil. Background During the term of former president Juscelino Kubitschek, the Brazilian government adopted a policy of developmentalism. It constructed the city of Brasilia under the promise of development in national industry within 5 years. Main tenets Janismo is defined by the electoral campaign promises and government actions under Jânio Quadros' presidency. The main goal of the ideology is to combat corruption. It is characterized as right-wing populism, but is in opposition to Getulismo and Peronism. The main difference between Jânismo and Vargas' Getulismo was in the way their policies targeted the lower class. While Vargas appealed to the working class for his promises of better living conditions, Jânio appealed to the same class using promises of bringing corrupt government officials to justice. The Brazilian Labour Renewal Party (, PRTB) is a conservative Brazilian political party. It was founded in 1994 and its electoral number is 28. Podemos (PODE; , ), previously known as the National Labour Party ( pt, Partido Trabalhista Nacional, PTN) is a Brazilian political party which supports direct democracy. José Levy Fidelix da Cruz (27 December 1951 – 23 April 2021) was a Brazilian conservative politician, businessman, and journalist. He was the founder of the Brazilian Labour Renewal Party (PRTB) and ran for president of Brazil in the elections of 2010 and 2014. He was particularly known in Brazil for his promise of building a bullet train system connecting São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro (the ''aerotrem'') and for his controversial declarations about homosexuals during a political debate in 2014.
