Thames Television, commonly simplified to just Thames, was a franchise holder for a region of the British ITV television network serving London and surrounding areas from 30 July 1968 until the night of 31 December 1992. Thames Television broadcast from 9:25 Monday morning to 5:15 Friday afternoon (7:00 Friday night until 1982) at which time it would hand over to London Weekend Television (LWT). ''After Henry'' is a British sitcom that aired on ITV from 1988 to 1992.Jeff Evans, ''The Penguin TV Companion'' (2001), p. 9. It was based on the radio series of the same name that was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 between 1985 and 1989. Like the radio series, the TV series was written by Simon Brett, and starred Prunella Scales and Joan Sanderson. It was made for the ITV network by Thames Television. The opening and closing music is "Three-Quarter Blues", by George Gershwin. The BBC was reluctant to produce ''After Henry'' for television, so in 1988 after the third radio series Thames Television did so. The show was surprisingly popular, attracting over 14 million viewers. A second television series was shown during the same months as the fourth radio series with, in many cases, both radio and television episodes being broadcast on the same nights. Gerry Cowper
Geraldine Cowper (born 23 June 1958) is an English actress who is best known for playing Rowan Morrison in the 1973 horror film ''The Wicker Man'' and Rosie Miller in ''EastEnders''. In the mid-1980s she took the part of Clare France in ''After Henry'' on BBC radio and also appeared on television as Jim Hacker's daughter in ''Yes Minister''. Career Cowper was Clare France, the youngest of the female triumvirate in the BBC Radio 4 comedy '' After Henry'', which also starred Prunella Scales and Joan Sanderson. Whilst Scales and Sanderson reprised their roles in the later television version, Cowper was considered too old to play a teenager on screen and the role went to Janine Wood. Cowper also played Lucy Hacker, the daughter of Jim Hacker, in the BBC comedy series ''Yes Minister'', although only in one episode. William Finn Miller (born 8 June 1996) is an English actor and former professional footballer. Early life Miller was born to television director Sam Miller and actress Janine Wood. He played football at Leyton Orient from the age of seven to 12. He first appeared in a documentary drama as Pieter Beijerinck, in a 2006 documentary drama, '' Krakatoa: The Last Days'', directed by his father. He appear in further productions for a number of years before returning to football. Oliver Twist is the title character and protagonist of the 1838 novel ''Oliver Twist'' by Charles Dickens. He was the first child protagonist in an English novel.The full title was "Oliver Twist, or The Parish Boy's Progress." Background Based in the 1820s, the orphan, young Oliver is born in a parish workhouse in an unnamed town. His unmarried mother dies during labour.
