Janice Elva MacDonald (born in Banff, Alberta) is a Canadian writer of literary and mystery novels, textbooks, non-fiction, and stories for both adults and children. She is best known as the creator of a series of comic academic mystery novels featuring reluctant amateur sleuth Miranda "Randy" Craig, all of which are set in Edmonton, Alberta.Chua, "Killer FICTIONista", Edmonton Woman Magazine" Biography Janice MacDonald was born in Canada's Banff National Park in 1959 but has spent most of her life in Edmonton, Alberta. Banff is a town within Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. It is located in Alberta's Rockies along the Trans-Canada Highway, approximately west of Calgary and east of Lake Louise. The Canadian Authors Association is Canada's oldest association for writers and authors.
