Janette Ahrens
Janette Louise Buckbee ( Ahrens, December 10, 1925 – April 24, 2016), also known as Deedee Ahrens, was an American figure skater. Life and career Ahrens was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota on December 10, 1925. She attended the University of Minnesota during the 1940s. Ahrens competed as both a single and pair skater, first with partner Robert Uppgren and later with Arthur Preusch. She also competed in fours with Uppgren, Mary Louise Premer, and Lyman Wakefield Jr. and won the 1941 North American title. Ahrens married Norman Simmons DeCoster in 1947, before divorcing and remarrying to Allen Buckbee in December 1985. During the 1970s, Ahrens lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but later resided in White Bear Lake. Janette Hill Knox (January 24, 1845 – July 28, 1920) was an American temperance reformer, suffragist, teacher, author and editor. Biography Janette Hill was born in Londonderry, Vermont, January 24, 1845. She was the daughter of Lewis Hill, a reverend of the Vermont Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Her mother's maiden name was Olive Marsh. Hill was reared in a quiet New England clerical home. Hill went to school in the various towns to which her father's itinerant assignments took the family. In 1869, after two years of seminary school, she graduated as valedictorian of her class from the Vermont Conference Female College in Montpelier (now, Vermont College of Fine Arts). Jeanette Lake is an unorganized territory in Saint Louis County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 249 at the 2000 census. State Highway 73 ( MN 73) serves as a main route in the area. The unincorporated communities of Silica and Bengal are located within Janette Lake Unorganized Territory. Janet Lake Wayside Park is located in the area. Thora Janette Scott (born 14 December 1938) is an English retired actress. Life and career Scott was born on 14 December 1938 in Morecambe, Lancashire, England. She is the daughter of actors Jimmy Scott and Thora Hird and began her acting career as a child actress known as Janette Scott. Scott was briefly (along with Jennifer Gay) one of the so-called "Children's Announcers" providing continuity links for the BBC's children's TV programmes from the Lime Grove Studios in the early 1950s.
