Jane Stratton
Jane Stratton (born August 10, 1953) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Biography Stratton grew up in Utah and was the first woman to receive an athletic scholarship to the University of Utah. She played collegiate tennis for four years, earning All-American honors on three occasions. During this time, she competed at the 1973 Summer Universiade and won a bronze medal in the women's doubles. On the professional circuit, she was most successful as a doubles player. She was runner-up in the doubles at two tour events: the 1975 Rothmans Canadian Open, 1975 Canadian Open and Pittsburgh Open in 1979. At both the 1975 US Open (tennis), 1975 US Open and 1977 Wimbledon Championships, she was a women's doubles quarterfinalist, partnering JoAnne Russell and Mimi Wikstedt respectively. JoAnne Russell (born October 30, 1954) is an American former professional tennis player. With playing partner Helen Gourlay Cawley, she won the Wimbledon ladies' doubles title in 1977. Bunny Bruning
Anna-Marie "Bunny" Bruning (born September 5, 1957) is an American former professional tennis player. Bruning grew up in California and was active on the WTA Tour during the 1970s and 1980s. She competed in the main draws of all four grand slam tournaments and was runner-up in the All England Plate, Wimbledon Plate in 1976. Now a resident of Adel, Iowa, Bruning has worked in the region as a tennis coach since leaving professional tennis and is currently Tennis Director of the Wakonda Club in Des Moines. Canadian Open (tennis)
The Canadian Open (french: Tournoi de tennis du Canada), also known as the Canada Masters, and currently branded as the National Bank Open presented by Rogers for sponsorship reasons, is an annual tennis tournament held in Ontario and Quebec. The men's competition is a Masters 1000 event on the ATP Tour, and the women's competition is a WTA 1000 tournament on the WTA Tour. The competition is played on outdoor hard courts. Prior to 2011, they were held during separate weeks in the July–August period; now the two competitions are held during the same week in August. The events alternate from year to year between the cities of Montreal and Toronto. Since 2021 in even-numbered years the men's tournament is held in Montreal, while the women's tournament is held in Toronto, and vice versa in odd-numbered years. Southern California Open
The Southern California Open currently known as The San Diego Open is an ATP 250 and WTA 500 tournament held at the Barnes Tennis Centre in San Diego, California. The event originated as the Southern California Championships that ran from 1887 until 1978. In August 2021, after the cancellation of the Asia Swing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Barnes Tennis Centre San Diego was allocated a two year 250 tournament license. Prior to that, it used to be a WTA only event which was last held as a WTA Challenger in 2015 at Carlsbad. In 2021, positioned one week before the 1000 Indian Wells Masters and only a 2 hour 30 min drive from Indian Wells, the San Diego Open attracted a very strong line up of players including Denis Shapovalov, Andrey Rublev, Diego Schwartzman, Grigor Dimitrov and Andy Murray.
