In the early days, producers came and went on a regular basis, some repeating several short stints over a number of years. In recent years however, with the established structure of the show and storylining more advanced than ever, producers are more likely to stay for longer periods. Coronation Street
''Coronation Street'' is an English soap opera created by Granada Television and shown on ITV since 9 December 1960. The programme centres around a cobbled, terraced street in Weatherfield, a fictional town based on inner-city Salford. Originally broadcast twice weekly, the series began airing six times a week in 2017. The programme was conceived by scriptwriter Tony Warren. Warren's initial proposal was rejected by the station's founder Sidney Bernstein, but he was persuaded by producer Harry Elton to produce the programme for 13 pilot episodes, and the show has since become a significant part of English culture. ''Coronation Street'' is made by ITV Granada at MediaCityUK and shown in all ITV regions, as well as internationally. ''Radio Times'' (currently styled as ''RadioTimes'') is a British weekly listings magazine devoted to television and radio programme schedules, with other features such as interviews, film reviews and lifestyle items. Founded in May 1923 by John Reith, then general manager of the British Broadcasting Company (from 1 January 1927, the British Broadcasting Corporation), it was the world's first broadcast listings magazine. It was published entirely in-house by BBC Magazines from 8 January 1937 until 16 August 2011, when the division was merged into Immediate Media Company. Kate Oates
Kate Oates (born 1979 or 1980) is a British television producer, who was born in Nottingham and graduated from Warwick University. She began her career working as a researcher and editorial assistant for Germaine Greer, before becoming a script editor for the soap opera ''Crossroads''. In 2003, she joined the radio soap ''The Archers'' as a producer, a position which Oates credits as the majority of her training. After resigning from this job, Oates began working on the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale'' as a script editor, during which time she assisted with the soap's fortieth anniversary celebrations and worked on British Soap Award-winning storylines. She remained in the position until 2012 when she joined ''Coronation Street'' as the assistant producer. Phil Collinson
Philip Collinson (born 26 August 1970) is a British television producer. He was initially an actor, before switching to working behind the cameras in the industry as a script editor and writer on programmes such as ''Springhill'' and ''Emmerdale'', later becoming the producer of ''Peak Practice'', ''Doctor Who'' and ''Coronation Street''. Career Collinson has produced several series for the BBC, including the comedy drama ''Linda Green'', and the first seasons of 1950s-set ''Born and Bred'' and paranormal thriller ''Sea of Souls''. In January 2004, he started work as the tenth full-time in-house producer of the BBC science-fiction programme ''Doctor Who''. Steve November
Steve November (born Steven Frost) is a British television producer and executive. Originally known as Steve Frost during his early career, he became a writer for the Sky One drama ''Dream Team''. He also took roles as an assistant director until he became a scriptwriter on the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale''. He progressed to become the series producer, a role he then took on at ''Coronation Street'' and ''The Royal''. Within ITV he was promoted to Head of Continuing Drama, where he made decisions regarding ITV soap operas and weekly drama series. During this time he also served as the Executive producer of ''Emmerdale''. In 2013, November took on the job of ITV's Director of Drama. In this role, November was responsible for commissioning numerous ITV dramas. In 2016, November left ITV after sixteen years. David Hanson is an English television producer well known for his production work on '' Coronation Street'' from September 1998 to October 1999, and the Liverpool based soap ''Hollyoaks''. Brian Park is a Scottish television producer and executive. He was born in Fife but lived in Aberdeen’s Bucksburn between the ages of nine and 17. Stuart Latham
Harry Stuart Latham (11 July 1912 – 31 August 1993) was an English theatre and film actor, director and television producer. Biography Latham was born in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey on 11 July 1912. After an apprenticeship in repertory theatre, including a period at Birmingham Rep, he played several small roles in films by Michael Powell in the 1930s. He also worked as a studio manager at Alexandra Palace before the Second World War. His acting work included minor parts in such films as ''Contraband'' (1940), '' The Ghost Train'' (1941) and ''The Man in the White Suit'' (1951). Bill Podmore
Edgar William Podmore (15 August 1931 – 22 January 1994) was a British television producer. Born in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, he is best remembered for his long association with the soap opera ''Coronation Street'', a series he produced for twelve years (1976–1988). Biography Initially a Royal Air Force pilot, he became a TV cameraman for the BBC, shortly after with Granada Television and later, a director. When, as a relatively young man, he was called upon to direct an episode of ''Coronation Street'', Violet Carson (Ena Sharples) with a massive twinkle in her eye, drew herself up to her full height and confronted him - "Hello Bill, welcome...my train leaves at 5.30 p.m.!"
