Janardan Swami
Janardan Swami (c. 1504 - c. 1575), or simply Janardan or Janardana was an Indian Hindu scholar, statesman, poet and saint. He was the spiritual guru of prominent 16th-century saint Eknath. His compositions were mostly written in Marathi. He also wrote a few verses in Braj. Biography Janardan Swami was born into a Deshastha Rigvedi Brahmin, Deshpande family at Chalisgaon, Maharashtra. They belong to Ashvalayana Sutra and Shakala Shakha. His parents reportedly subscribed to the Asvalayana tradition and were probably adherents of the school of thought initiated by the 8th-century philosopher Adi Shankaracharya. Janardan Swami was a devotee of the Hindu deity Dattatreya. He was appointed as ''Killedar'' or governor of the fort at Daulatabad (previously Devagiri) by its contemporary Muslim occupants. Janardan Paswan is an Indian politician and two-time elected member from Chatra Vidhan Sabha constituency to Bihar and Jharkhand assembly. First he was elected in year 1995 on the ticket of Janta Dal for Bihar legislative assembly. Janardan Gyanoba Navle (pronounced Nuw-lay) (7 December 1902 – 7 September 1979) was an early Indian Test cricketer. Rajeev Janardan (born 1967) is an Indian classical sitar player of the Imdadkhani gharana (school), taught by Bimalendu Mukherjee. He lives in New Delhi. At the age of 15, Janardan won the All India Music Competition.
