''Janani'' () is a 1993 Bengali film directed and produced by Sanat Dasgupta with a financial assistance from National Film Development Corporation of India. The film narrates the life of a little boy and his ostracized mother who is isolated from him as she is believed to be a witch in the village she lives in. It is based on a Bengali short story named ''Baen'' (Bengali: বাঁয়েন) written by the renowned Bengali author Mahasweta Devi. It was scripted by Partha Banerjee, Ashutosh Sarkar and Sanat Dasgupta himself. The music of the film was scored by Partha Sengupta. It stars Roopa Ganguly in the central role. The film won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues in 1993 for its delicate portrayal of an obscurantist practice like witchcraft, prevalent in certain parts of the country. Janani is a 2006 Indian Hindi language film starring Bhagyashree and Ayesha Jhulka. Plot Rahul falls in love with Neha, whom he meets in college. However, when his mother discovers who Neha's parents are, things get complicated as Rahul and Neha find out that they may in fact be siblings. When Rahul parents oppose their wedding, Rahul insist on finding the real reason, and thinks because of Neha's status Rahul parents are opposing. The parents explain that Neha's mother was working in their toy factory and helped them in expanding their business, and he is her biological son. Rahul gets very upset after discovering that Neha is his real sister, with whom he had sex the last night. Janani Iyer
Janani (formerly known as Janani Iyer) is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Tamil and Malayalam movies. She made her cinematic debut with the Tamil feature film '' Avan Ivan'' (2011). Her notable films including ''Thegidi'' (2014) and '' 7th Day'' (2014). She is the 3rd runner up of the reality show ''Bigg Boss Tamil 2'' which aired in 2018. Early life Janani Iyer was born in Kathivakkam in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She did her schooling at DAV Gopalapuram and graduated with B.E. Computer Science and Engineering at Saveetha Engineering College, Chennai. After her undergraduate studies, she got seat in Wollongong University, Australia. Janani Luwum
Janani Jakaliya Luwum (c. 1922 – 17 February 1977) was the archbishop of the Church of Uganda from 1974 to 1977 and one of the most influential leaders of the modern church in Africa. He was arrested in February 1977 and died shortly after. Although the official account describes a car crash, it is generally accepted that he was murdered on the orders of then-President Idi Amin. Since 2015 Uganda has a public holiday on 16 February, to celebrate the life of Janani Luwum. Early life Luwum was born in the village of Mucwini in the Kitgum District to Acholi parents. He attended Gulu High School and Boroboro Teacher Training College, after which he taught at a primary school. "Janani Janmabhumishcha Swargadapi Gariyasi" (; , ) is a hemistich of a Sanskrit shloka from Ramayana, and the national motto of Government of Nepal. Translation "''Mother and motherland are superior even to Heaven.''"
