Athletics is a group of sporting events that involves competitive running, jumping, throwing, and walking. Edmund Borowski
Edmund Borowski (23 January 1945 – 22 August 2022) was a Polish sprinter who specialized in the 400 metres. At the 1966 European Championships he won a gold medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay together with Jan Werner, Stanisław Grędziński and Andrzej Badeński. At the 1967 European Indoor Games he won a silver medal in the 4 x 300 metres relay, which he ran together with Edward Romanowski, Ján Balachowski and Tadeusz Jaworski. At the 1968 European Indoor Games he won a silver medal in the medley relay, which he ran with Marian Dudziak, Waldemar Korycki and Andrzej Badeński. Another silver medal in medley relay followed at the 1970 European Indoor Championships, this time together with Stanisław Waśkiewicz, Kazimierz Wardak and Eryk Żelazny. 1966 European Athletics Championships
The 8th European Athletics Championships were held from 30 August to 4 September 1966 in the Stadium Puskás Ferenc, Nép Stadium in Budapest, Hungarian People's Republic, Hungary. Contemporaneous reports on the event were given in the Glasgow Herald. A new IAAF ruling was applied for the first time making gender verification for female events mandatory. As a consequence, all women competitors were forced to have a sex check. Academic Sports Association Warsaw ( pl, Akademicki Związek Sportowy Warszawa) was a former multi-section University sports club based in Warsaw, Poland. The 400 metres, or 400-meter dash, is a sprint event in track and field competitions. It has been featured in the athletics (sport), athletics programme at the Summer Olympics since 1896 for men and since 1964 for women. On a standard outdoor running track, it is one lap around the track. Runners start in staggered positions and race in separate lanes for the entire course. 200 Metres
The 200 metres, or 200-meter dash, is a sprint running event. On an outdoor 400 metre racetrack, the race begins on the curve and ends on the home straight, so a combination of techniques is needed to successfully run the race. A slightly shorter race, called the '' stadion'' and run on a straight track, was the first recorded event at the ancient Olympic Games. The 200 m places more emphasis on speed endurance than shorter sprint distances as athletes predominantly rely on anaerobic energy system during the 200 m sprint. Sprinting is running over a short distance at the top-most speed of the body in a limited period of time. It is used in many sports that incorporate running, typically as a way of quickly reaching a target or goal, or avoiding or catching an opponent.
