Jan Jensen (basketball)
Jan Jensen is an American college basketball coach and former basketball player. Jensen currently serves as the head coach for the Iowa Hawkeyes women's team. She spent her playing career at Drake, where she led NCAA Division I women's in scoring in 1990–91. Early life Jensen was born in the small rural town of Kimballton, Iowa. Basketball played a large part in Jensen's family background. Her grandmother, Dorcas Andersen, was part of a team that won the Iowa state basketball tournament in 1921. The team played a brand of 6-on-6 basketball that saw popularity in rural Iowa – a popularity uncommon for women's sports during this time period. The local newspaper dubbed Andersen "Lottie" in reference to her scoring "a lot of points." Jensen played high school basketball at Elk Horn–Kimballton High School. Jan Jensen (14 July 1944 – 22 October 2002) was a Norwegian sports official. Jensen chaired Østfold District Skiing Association and Østfold District Federation of Sports. In 1994, he was elected deputy vice president of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports, stepping down to status of board member in 1995, when he was elected president of the Norwegian Ski Federation. In 1999, he was a contender for the presidency of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports, but at the national convention he lost the vote to Kjell O. Kran, and left the board as well. He remained president of the Norwegian Skiing Federation until his death from cancer in October 2002. Jan Krogh Jensen (23 August 1958 – 16 July 1996), nicknamed "Face", was a Norwegian-born Danish outlaw biker and gangster who was a member of the Hells Angels and Bandidos motorcycle clubs. Outlaw biker Born in Norway and raised in Denmark, Jensen became a member of the Helsingør chapter of the Hells Angels, led by Michael Garcia "Lerche" Olsen, during the 1980s. Olsen had previously been president of the Copenhagen chapter, but left that post in 1985 as a result of an internal dispute within the club. Initially, an attempt was made to resolve the disagreements by allowing Olsen to head the newly-formed Helsingør chapter. The arrangement did not last, however, and the following year, the chapter was disbanded and Olsen was expelled from the club.
