Jampur
Jampur () is a city in the Rajanpur District, in Pakistan's Punjab province. It comprises an area of about 2322 square kilometers and has a population of about 110,000. It is the capital of Jampur Tehsil. To the west are the high and dry barren mountains of Sulaiman Range. To the east is the Indus river. Etymology The word Jampur has two parts: "JAM" and "PUR". "Jadam" faded into "Jam" with the passage of time. "Pur" means "vivified by" or "populated by". Educational institutes Jampur is a lightly populated city with a lack of industry, though the land is fertile. One of the main local educational institutes is Govt. Boys High School Jampur which was founded in 1885, as a consequence of the introduction of the British Government system in 1857. Jampur has two public girls high schools for education up to 10th class. The city has one public college for boys and one for girls. Dajal ( ) is a Tehsil in the south-west of Punjab, Pakistan. It is located in Jampur District , . It has a population of around 200,000, and the main languages spoken are Saraiki and Balochi. Rajanpur ( ur, ) is a district of the Pakistani province of Punjab, with its administrative headquarters the city of Rajanpur. A tehsil (, also known as tahsil, taluka, or taluk) is a local unit of administrative division in some countries of South Asia. It is a subdistrict of the area within a district including the designated populated place that serves as its administrative centre, with possible additional towns, and usually a number of villages. 2017 Census Of Pakistan
The 2017 Census of Pakistan was a detailed enumeration of the Pakistani population which began on 15 March 2017 and ended on 25 May 2017. It was the first census taken in the country in the 21st century, nineteen years after 1998 Census of Pakistan, the previous one in 1998, and it was carried out by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The census recorded a total population throughout the country of 213,222,917. The results showed a massive population increase having occurred between 1998 and 2017 of 77.0 Million people, or an increase of +56.5%. The results also marked a significant overperformance compared to estimations made of the Pakistani population before the census, which had previously estimated the Pakistani population in 2017 to be 195 Million – 200 Million. The union councils of Pakistan ( ur, ), referred to as village councils in villages, are an elected local government body consisting of 21 councillors, and headed by a Nazim which is equivalent to a mayor or chairperson and a Naib Nazib (vice chairperson).
