Jamie Turner
Jamie Turner (born 12 August 1962) is a former Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL). Son of Collingwood premiership player Ken, Jamie would also play with the Magpies, making his debut in 1984 coming across from Montmorency. Turner established himself as a top wingman, but had the versatility to play at either end of the ground. In 1990, Turner would add the family name to the record books, being the 21st case of father and sons in premiership teams. Montmorency Football Club
Montmorency Football Club is an Australian rules football club in Montmorency, Victoria, currently competing in Division 1 in the Northern Football League. History The club was formed in 1924 by Harold Hodgson and was original based at Memorial park, Greensborough. In 1925 the club relocated to its current home and joined the Diamond Valley Football League where it competed until 1931 before going into recess. The Club was revived in 1936 and returned to the DVFL where it has remained ever since. Montmorency won its first premiership in 1951 followed by a second premiership in 1954. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Ken Turner (Australian Rules Footballer)
Ken Turner (30 June 1935 – 11 February 2022) was a former Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood in the VFL. He is the father of Australian Rules footballer Jamie Turner, who also played with Collingwood. He was a cousin of former test cricketer Graham Yallop, nephew of Stan Yates and was a cousin of murdered lawyer Keith William Allan. Turner usually played on either the half forward flank or as a wingman. He was a member of Collingwood's premiership side in 1958 and represented Victoria at interstate football seven times during his career.
