Jamie Duursma
Jamie Duursma (born 14 November 1963) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Sydney Swans, Brisbane Bears and Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the late 1980s. Duursma, after a stint with the Hawthorn reserves, began his career in Sydney but after two years with the Swans joined Brisbane for their inaugural VFL season. He only made one appearance in the seniors while at Brisbane and was drafted to Melbourne in 1988 where he had some success, playing as a centre half back in their losing 1988 Grand Final team. His career was hampered by knee injuries. The Sandringham Football Club, nicknamed The Zebras, is an Australian rules football club based in Melbourne which was formed in 1929 and plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL) which was formerly called the Victorian Football Association (VFA). History The Sandringham Football Club was admitted to the VFA competition (now VFL) for the 1929 season, though the first moves to establish a semi-professional football team from the Sandringham region began two years earlier. The Sydney Swans are a professional Australian rules football club based in Sydney, New South Wales. Brisbane Bears
The Brisbane Football Club, nicknamed the Bears, was a professional Australian rules football club based in Queensland on the Gold Coast (relocated to Brisbane in 1993). The club participated in the Victorian/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL) between 1987 and 1996, and entered the league as the first of two non-Victorian expansion teams. The Goulburn Valley Football Netball League is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in the Goulburn Valley region of Victoria, Australia. It is a member of the Victorian Country Football League and has won the Victorian Country Football Championships in 2003 and 2005. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind").
