James Whitley (alpine Skier)
James Whitley (born 17 November 1997) is a British alpine skiing, alpine skier, who competes in the slalom skiing, slalom, giant slalom SuperG, Downhill (ski competition), Downhill and Super Combined events. A promising junior skier, Whitley qualified to represent Paralympics GB, Great Britain's team at the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi for his debut Paralympics. In January 2018 it was announced by BPA (British Paralympic Association) and PSGB (ParaSnowSportsGB) that Whitley had been selected to compete in Pyeongchang in the 2018 Winter Paralympics. In February 2022, Whitley was named by the BPA as part of the ParalympicsGB squad for the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics. Personal history Whitley was born on 17 November 1997. James Lavell Whitley (born May 13, 1979) is a former American football defensive back. He played college football at Michigan. He played professional football in the CFL, NFL, and AFL from 2001 to 2008. Early life and college career Born in Decatur, Illinois, Whitley attended Norview High School in Norfolk, Virginia. At Norview, Whitley started at both quarterback and cornerback; he made the ''USA Today'' All-USA second-team as a senior in 1996. Whitley played college football for the University of Michigan from 1997 to 2000. As a freshman, he played for the undefeated 1997 Michigan Wolverines football team that defeated Washington State in the 1998 Rose Bowl to win a national championship. In December 2000, he was dismissed from the team following an arrest for carrying a concealed weapon.
