James Weatherall
Sir James Lamb Weatherall (28 February 1936 – 18 March 2018) was a Royal Navy officer who served as Her Majesty's Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps from 1992 to 2001. Naval career Educated at Gordonstoun School and the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Weatherall joined the Royal Navy in 1954.Debrett's People of Today 1994 He was given command of the frigate HMS ''Andromeda'' in 1982, serving with her in the Falklands War, and took command of the aircraft carrier HMS ''Ark Royal'' in 1985. He joined the staff of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe in 1987 and then became Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic in 1989 before retiring in 1991. In retirement he became Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps and a Trustee of the UK arm of the World Wide Fund for Nature. Anthony Figgis
Sir Anthony St John Howard Figgis, (born October 1940) was Her Majesty's Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps in the Royal Household of the Sovereign of the United Kingdom from 2001 to 2008. Unusually, he also held the post of Her Majesty's Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps, from 1991 to 1996, when he became Her Britannic Majesty's Ambassador to Austria. Early life Figgis was born in 1940, and educated at Rugby School and King's College, Cambridge. Career He joined Her Majesty's Diplomatic Service in 1962. Figgis' first overseas posting was as 3rd Secretary in Belgrade in 1963. In 1965 he was assigned to the Commonwealth Office in London. He was 2nd Secretary (Political Residency) in Bahrain from 1968 to 1970, when he rejoined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London. Sir Anthony Peter Woodhead, (born 30 July 1939) is a former Royal Navy officer who served as Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic from 1991 to 1993. Admiral Sir William Richard Scott Thomas (22 March 1932 – 13 December 1998) was the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod (or simply Black Rod) in the British Parliament's House of Lords from January 1992 to 8 May 1995. Naval career Educated at Downside School, Thomas joined the Navy in 1951. He was given command of the destroyer HMS ''Troubridge'' in 1966. Niall Malcolm Stewart Macpherson, 1st Baron Drumalbyn (3 August 1908 – 11 October 1987) was a Scottish Tory and National Liberal politician.
