James W. Reid (politician)
James Wesley Reid (June 11, 1849 – January 1, 1902) was a U.S. Representative from North Carolina. Born in Wentworth, North Carolina, to the Rev. Dr. Numa Fletcher Reid and his first wife Ann E. Wright, James W. Reid pursued an academic course. He was graduated from Emory and Henry College, Emory, Virginia, in 1869 and subsequently taught in the same college. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar in 1873 and commenced practice in Wentworth, North Carolina. He served as Treasurer of Rockingham County 1874-1884. He was active in Methodist and Masonic circles. His strength was in his "silver tongued oratory." John Morehead Brower
John Morehead Brower (July 19, 1845August 5, 1913) was an American farmer and agriculture merchant who served two terms as a Representative from North Carolina from 1887 to 1891. Early life and education Brower was born in Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina on July 19, 1845, but soon moved to Surry County with his parents, who settled in Mount Airy in 1845. He was educated by private tutors and attended the Mount Airy Male Academy and engaged in agricultural pursuits, the raising and processing of tobacco, and mercantile pursuits. Political career Brower was delegate to all Republican State conventions from 1872 to 1896 and a member of the North Carolina State Senate from 1876 to 1878. Lewis–Clark State College is a public college in the northwest United States, located in north central Idaho at Lewiston. Founded in 1893, it has an approximate annual enrollment of 3,600. The college offers more than 130 degrees and is well known for its social work, criminal justice, education, nursing, and technical programs. History In 1893, Governor William J.
