James David Vaughan (December 14, 1864 – February 9, 1941) was an American music teacher, composer, song book publisher, the founder of the Vaughan Conservatory of Music and the James D. Vaughan Publishing Company. Biography Vaughan was born in Giles County, Tennessee, the son of George Washington and Eliza (Shores) Vaughan. He died February 9, 1941. Vaughan is generally considered to be one of the founders of the genre now known as "Southern gospel" music.See southern gospel and Charles Davis Tillman. He started the James D. James Churchill Vaughan
James Churchill Omosanya Vaughan Jr., M.D. (30 May 1893 – 1937) was a Nigerian doctor and a prominent political activist. Birth and education Vaughan was born in Lagos on 30 May 1893, the son of James Wilson Vaughan, who descended from the 19th century American artisan Scipio Vaughan and through whom he also had Catawba ancestry. His father was a prosperous Lagos Yoruba merchant. He was among the first set of scholars at King's College, Lagos when it was founded in 1909. Vaughan and Isaac Ladipo Oluwole were the two first Nigerian students at the University of Glasgow, studying medicine there from 1913 to 1918, when they graduated with medical degrees. The two students were subject to racial prejudice. In the program for the final dinner in 1918, Vaughan was given an epithet after Robert Burns's "The Twa Dogs", likening him to a foreign born dog, "whalpit some place far abroad". Jimmie Vaughan (born March 20, 1951) is an American blues rock guitarist and singer based in Austin, Texas. He is the older brother of the late Texas blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan. Several notable blues guitarists have had a significant influence on Vaughan's playing style, including the "Three Kings" (Albert, Freddie, and B.B. King) and Johnny "Guitar" Watson. Early career Jimmie Vaughan was born on March 20, 1951, in Dallas County, Texas, United States, to parents Jimmie Lee Vaughan and Martha Jean Cook. Raised in Dallas, Texas, Vaughan attended L V. Stockard Junior High where on February 3, 1965, he first played before an audience in a group named The Pendulums, or the JSP's, along with Phil Campbell and Ronny Sterling. James Vaughan (born 6 December 1986) is an English footballer who plays as a right-back. He has also played at left-back. Career Born in Liverpool, Vaughan was signed by Chester in January 2006 from Tranmere Rovers, where he made more than 50 reserve team appearances. He joined his father Stephen Vaughan, Sr. (owner) and his brother, Stephen Vaughan at the club. His first-team debut came when he replaced his brother in the closing stages of Chester's 4–4 draw in the EFL Trophy at Chesterfield on 29 November 2006. After a successful loan spell at Droylsden, who he helped win the Conference North title, Vaughan returned to Chester and was a regular in the closing matches of the 2006–07. James Oliver Vaughan (born 14 July 1988) is an English former professional footballer who played as a forward. He is currently the Loans Pathway Manager at Everton. Vaughan, who was born in Birmingham, signed his first professional contract with Everton. He played for the club between 2005 and 2011, including loan spells at Derby County, Leicester City and Crystal Palace, before signing for Norwich in May 2011. He then had a loan spell at Huddersfield Town for the majority of the 2012–13 season, before signing permanent terms on 3 July 2013. He spent two-and-a-half seasons with Huddersfield before joining Birmingham City on loan. The move was made permanent at the end of the 2015–16 season, but his stay was brief, as he joined Bury in August 2016.
