James Shaw (volleyball)
James Shaw (born March 5, 1994) is an American volleyball player. Shaw currently plays for WWK Volleys Herrsching. He is part of the United States men's national volleyball team. On club level he played for Stanford University. Shaw started his professional career in the 2016/2017 season where he played for Italian Club, Pallavolo Padova. In May 2017, it was announced that he would spend the upcoming 2017/2018 season at Sir Safety Perugia. He spent his 2022 summer training with team USA and traveled to Brazil for the first round of VNL. Personal life James Shaw was born in Stanford, California and grew up in Woodside, California. He attended St. Francis High School. He later attended Stanford University, where he graduated from in 2016 with a major in science, technology, and society. Men's Pan-American Volleyball Cup
The Men's Pan-American Volleyball Cup is a men's volleyball tournament organized by NORCECA. Initially, only NORCECA teams participated, but CSV teams have been invited since 2010. The event served as a qualifier for World League and the America's Cup. Now, the event serves as an America qualifier for the Pan American Games classification. The women have their own equivalent of the tournament, the Women's Pan-American Cup. Saint Mary's College of California is a Private college, private Catholic Church, Catholic college in Moraga, California. Established in 1863, it is affiliated with the Catholic Church and administered by the De La Salle Brothers. The college offers undergraduate and graduate programs with a total student count at under 4,000 . Don Shaw (volleyball)
Donald Shaw (born 1951) is a retired American volleyball coach and player. Over a combined 27 years, he coached for the men and women's volleyball teams at Stanford, winning NCAA titles with the women's team four times: in 1992, 1994, 1996, and 1997. Shaw was inducted into the Stanford Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011. Shaw is considered to be one of the most successful volleyball coaches in NCAA history, and his .863 winning percentage is the best in NCAA women's collegiate volleyball history. Personal life Shaw is from Pacific Palisades, California and he graduated from Palisades High School. In high school, he excelled in baseball and basketball, was a member of the 1969 LA City Basketball Champions and was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 1969 Major League Baseball draft. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. 2022 Men's Pan-American Volleyball Cup
The 2022 Men's Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the 15th edition of the annual men's volleyball tournament. It was held in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, from 9 August to 14 August. Eight teams competed in the tournament. Competing nations Competition format The competition format for the Pan-American Volleyball Cup divides the eight participating teams in two groups of four teams each. The best team from Group A and Group B will advance to the semifinals, the second and third teams from Group B will play the quarterfinals against the second and third teams from Pool A. The remaining teams will play for the 5th to 8th placement matches. 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup
The 2019 FIVB Men's World Cup was the 14th edition of the event, contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The tournament was held from 1 to 15 October 2019 in Japan. That was the first time since 1989 that FIVB decided not to allocate any spots in the Olympics, due to Japan hosting the 2020 Summer Olympics.
