James River (Alberta)
The James River is a medium-sized river in central Alberta. It is a tributary of the Red Deer River. Species of fish commonly found: Brown trout, rainbow trout, mountain whitefish, northern pike and a few others. It forms in the Rocky Mountains and flows eastward before joining the Red Deer River. The Forestry Trunk Road follows the river for much of its course. The James River is also bridged by Alberta Highway 22 near the unincorporated community of James River Bridge. The James River, as well as James Pass and James Lake, are named after James Dickson, a Stoney Chief who signed Treaty 7 with the Canadian government in 1877. It flows from northeast Webster County until it is impounded into Table Rock Lake. It is part of the White River watershed. The river forms Lake Springfield and supplies drinking water for the city of Springfield. Course Its source is northeast of the town of Seymour in Webster County. Its headwaters initially flow south then turns west to northwesterly north of Seymour and turns southwest near Northview and passes down the east side of Springfield where it is impounded to form Lake Springfield. The James River is located in Kimble and Mason Counties, in the U.S. state of Texas. James River Corporation was an American pulp and paper company based in Richmond, Virginia, once the largest paper manufacturer in the world. History The company was founded in 1969 as the James River Paper Company by Brenton Halsey and Robert Williams, with the purchase of Ethyl Corporation's Specialty Papers Division. Halsey and Williams were both former employees of Albemarle Paper Manufacturing Company; the city of Richmond lies along the James River. The company changed its name to the James River Corporation in 1973, and it acquired the Dixie/Northern division of American Can Company in 1982. In 1986, James River acquired the fine paper mill assets of Crown Zellerbach, headquartered in San Francisco, and became the largest paper manufacturer in the world. The Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools (locally known also as ''WJCC'' or ''WJC'') is a combined public school division which serves the independent city of Williamsburg and James City County in the Virginia Peninsula area of the Hampton Roads region in southeastern Virginia.
