James Riley (gunman)
Kinch 'James' Riley (c. 1853 – ?) was a young man from Kansas who, on August 19, 1871 was the deciding factor in a little-known but deadly gunfight, which became known as the Gunfight at Hide Park, that took place in Newton, Kansas. The gunfight, despite being lesser known than either the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral or the Four Dead in Five Seconds Gunfight, resulted in more dead. Identity and origins Where Kinch 'James' Riley came from is unknown. It is believed that he was born in Kansas, but as to where in Kansas is unknown. He first surfaced in Newton around 1869. He was thought to be suffering from tuberculosis, and was a loner. Mike McCluskie, a local gambler from Ohio and sometime lawman, took him in. Riley was often seen in the presence of McCluskie, but otherwise went unnoticed, and was never known to have been in any trouble. The Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health is a nationally ranked freestanding 354-bed, pediatric acute care children's hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It is affiliated with the Indiana University School of Medicine. Riley Hospital for Children is a member of the Indiana University Health system, the only children's hospital in the network. The ''James Whitcomb Riley'' was a passenger train that operated between Chicago, Illinois, and Cincinnati, Ohio, via Indianapolis, Indiana. Originally operated by the New York Central Railroad, it was taken over by Amtrak in 1971. Under Amtrak, it merged with the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway's ''George Washington'' to become a Chicago-Washington/Newport News train. In 1977, it was renamed the '' Cardinal'', which remains in operation. James Michael Riley (born May 9, 1977) is an American novelist, most famous for the fantasy series ''Story Thieves''. His other works include the ''Half Upon a Time'' trilogy and the ''Revenge of Magic'' series. All thirteen of his novels have been published by Aladdin, an imprint owned by Simon & Schuster. The 2003 invasion of Iraq, which lasted from March 20 to May 1, 2003, resulted in a small number of U.S. and Coalition Prisoners of wars. 507th Maintenance Company March 23rd Ambush and Capture A majority of the prisoners of war were captured from the ambush of the 507th Maintenance Company. Separated from a larger convoy, they were ambushed in the Iraqi-held town of Nasiriyah on March 23, 2003. Out of thirty-three soldiers present, eleven were killed and seven captured in the firefight. Several weapons jammed in the firefight. The following soldiers were captured by Iraqi forces: Iraqi TV interview Soon after their capture, Jessica Lynch was taken to an Iraqi hospital due to her serious injuries. James Frederic Riley
James Frederic Riley FRSE FRCSE (2 May 1912–17 January 1985) was a 20th-century English physician, radiologist and cancer specialist. His identification (working jointly with Dr Geoffrey West) that the mast cell was the main producer of histamine in the human body resulted in his being made a visiting professor at the University of Montreal and to his being awarded the Claude Bernard Medal for medical achievement. He was one of the first to identify the link between mast cells and asthma and the potential use of antihistamines in this field. Life He was born in Settle, Yorkshire on 2 May 1912. He was educated at Giggleswick School in Yorkshire. He studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with an MB ChB in 1935. James Middleton Riley (February 9, 1851 – December 27, 1913), better known as Doc Middleton, chose the alias David Charles Middleton ut most often called "Doc" was a famed outlaw and horse thief, whose exploits of stealing perhaps 2,000 horses over a two-year period earned a spot in the Wild West Show. Criminal career Middleton stole his first horse at the age of 14. In 1870 he was convicted of murder and was sentenced to life in prison at the Huntsville Prison. In 1874 he escaped the prison.
