Godhead, occasionally typeset as gODHEAD, is an American rock band from Washington, D.C. They were the only band signed to musician Marilyn Manson's short-lived vanity label, Posthuman Records. History The band was formed in 1994 under the early moniker Blind, but made their first performance as Godhead shortly after in Fairfax, Virginia that April. After fairly remaining in obscurity for a number of years, the band was noticed by Marilyn Manson and in 2000 signed a record contract with Manson, making them the first act of Posthuman Records. This deal culminated with the release of their breakthrough studio album in January 2001 entitled, '' 2000 Years of Human Error'', which earned Godhead recognition by Ozzy Osbourne and landed them a spot on Ozzfest where the band headlined the second stage that same year. Scott Cohen (born 1965) is the co-founder of digital distribution company The Orchard, which was founded on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in 1997 and is now owned by Sony Music. The Orchard was the first digital distributor of music. In February 2019, Cohen retired from The Orchard and joined the senior management team at Warner Music Group. His role is the Chief Innovation Officer. He sat on the British Phonographic Industry Council, and was the chairman of the board of music agency Sound Diplomacy. Cohen's music career started in the late 1980s in independent and major label artist management. He was the co-founder of the rock band Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids (later shortened to just Marilyn Manson), and was the guitarist for the band until 1996. After leaving Marilyn Manson, Putesky was involved in a number of other projects such as Three ton Gate, The Linda Blairs, Jack Off Jill, Stuck on Evil (previously called Rednecks on Drugs), Kill Miss Pretty, and The Daisy Kids. Life Scott Putesky was born in Los Angeles, California, and was adopted and raised in New Jersey. His family is Jewish, but he described himself as atheist. Jeordie Osbourne White (born June 20, 1971), better known Twiggy Ramirez or simply Twiggy, is an American musician, mostly known as the former bassist and guitarist of the rock band Marilyn Manson. Previously, he was the bassist for A Perfect Circle and a touring member of Nine Inch Nails, and is currently the vocalist for Goon Moon. He left Marilyn Manson in 2002, later rejoined the band in 2008, and was dismissed in 2017. He has been a principal songwriter for the band and has also contributed to some of the Desert Sessions recordings. Ozzfest
Ozzfest is an annual music festival tour of the United States and sometimes Europe and later Japan, featuring performances by many heavy metal and hard rock musical groups. It was founded by Sharon Osbourne and her husband Ozzy Osbourne, both of whom also organised each yearly tour with their son Jack Osbourne, and was held almost annually between 1996 and 2018. The Ozzfest tour featured bands of a variety of genres within heavy metal and hard rock, including alternative metal, thrash metal, industrial metal, metalcore, hardcore punk, deathcore, nu metal, death metal, post-hardcore, gothic metal and black metal. John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence during the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, during which period he adopted the nickname "Prince of Darkness". ''2000 Years of Human Error'' is the fourth studio album by the American rock band Godhead. It was released on January 23, 2001 by Posthuman Records, making this one of Posthuman's only releases. The album contains select songs that have been re-recorded by the band, which previously appeared on 1998's '' Power Tool Stigmata''. "Sinking" has since been re-recorded for the subsequent release ''Unplugged''. The version of "Penetrate" featured on this album was also featured on the soundtrack to the 2002 movie ''Queen of the Damned''. ''2000 Years of Human Error'' spawned two singles, "The Reckoning" and the Beatles cover "Eleanor Rigby". It also had a music video largely consisting of vocalist Jason C. Miller singing and walking down a street in slow motion as other band members are seen sitting or standing along the sidewalk in a depressed manner. A recording contract (commonly called a record contract or record deal) is a legal agreement between a record label and a recording artist (or group), where the artist makes a record (or series of records) for the label to sell and promote.
