James Phinney Munroe
James Phinney Munroe (June 3, 1862 – February 2, 1929) was an American author, businessman, professor and genealogist of the Clan Munro. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated in 1882, although remained active in the affairs of the school. He published a number of mostly scholarly works. He was the father-in-law of Frederic Lansing Day who married his daughter Katharine. Munroe, who lived in Lexington, Massachusetts, was a president of the Lexington Historical Society and Treasurer and President of the Munroe Felt and Paper Company. He edited the second edition of Charles Hudson's ''History of Lexington''. Biography James Phinney Munroe was born in Lexington, Massachusetts on June 3, 1862. He died in Boston on February 2, 1929. Jim Munroe is a Canadian science fiction author, who publishes his works independently under the imprint ''No Media Kings''."Author dumps publisher". ''Peterborough Examiner'', May 6, 2000. Munroe was managing editor at the magazine ''Adbusters'' in the 1990s, before publishing his debut novel ''Flyboy Action Figure Comes With Gasmask'' in 1999. The novel was put out by HarperCollins, a major publishing company owned by Rupert Murdoch, and though the book was successful, Munroe so disliked the experience that he launched No Media Kings as a venue for publishing and promoting his own works independently, and a guide to self-publishing for other prospective writers. The book was shortlisted for the Books in Canada First Novel Award in 2000. In 2000, Munroe released ''Angry Young Spaceman'' through No Media Kings. He followed up with ''Everyone in Silico'' in 2002, which was promoted partly by Munroe's attempt to invoice corporations mentioned in the novel for product placement. ''A ...

James Munroe (New York Politician)
James Munroe (November 24, 1815 – June 7, 1869) was an American politician from New York. Life He was the son of Nathan Munro (1791–1839) and Cynthia (Champlin) Munro (1796–1877). He was born in that part of the Town of Camillus which was separated in 1829 as the Town of Elbridge, in Onondaga County, New York. He married Caroline A. Clark, and they had two children. He was a member of the New York State Senate (22nd D.) from 1852 to 1855, sitting in the 75th, 76th, 77th and 78th New York State Legislature The 78th New York State Legislature, consisting of the New York State Senate and the New York State Assembly, met from January 2 to April 14, 1855, during the first year of Myron H.
