James McNaughton (Loughgiel Shamrocks Hurler)
James McNaughton (born 1997) is an Irish hurler who plays for Antrim Senior Championship club Loughgiel Shamrocks and at inter-county level with the Antrim senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a centreforward.His Snapchat is Jmcnaughton11 Career McNaughton first came to prominence as a member of the Loughgiel Shamrocks club at juvenile and underage levels. He eventually joined the club's senior team and was a part of the 2016 County Championship-winning team. McNaughton made his first appearances at inter-county level as a member of the Antrim minor team that won the 2015 Ulster Championship before a two-year stint with the under-21 team. He joined the Antrim senior hurling team in 2017 and has since won Ulster Championship and Joe McDonagh Cup titles. Loughguile
Loughguile ( ; ), also spelt Loughgiel or Loughgeel, is a village and civil parish in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Situated 8 miles east of Ballymoney it is within the Causeway Coast and Glens Council area, and is at the edge of the Glens of Antrim. It had a population of 396 people (128 households) in the 2011 Census. Education The local schools are St Patrick's Primary School and St Anne's Primary School. Sport The hurling team, Loughgiel Shamrocks, is the only team in Ulster to have won the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, doing so in 1983 and 2012. The 2015 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 85th staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship for players under the age of eighteen since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. 2020 Joe McDonagh Cup
The 2020 Joe McDonagh Cup was the third staging of the Joe McDonagh Cup since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2018. The competition was initially scheduled to begin on 10 May 2020 and end on 29 June 2020. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Gaelic games, the first-round games were delayed until 25 October 2020. Laois, the 2019 champions, were promoted to the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship, while Offaly were relegated to the Christy Ring Cup. Meath and Carlow entered the cup. On 13 December 2020, Antrim won the Joe McDonagh Cup after a 0–22 to 1–17 win over Kerry in the final at Croke Park. It was their first ever title. 2017 Ulster Senior Hurling Championship
The 2017 Ulster Senior Hurling Championship was the 69th staging of the Ulster hurling championship since its establishment by the Ulster Council in 1901. The tournament was moved to April, instead of the usual June/July dates, in order to accommodate the various tiers of the All-Ireland championship. Antrim won a sixteenth consecutive title. Format The two-tier format introduced in 2016 continued. The Joe McDonagh Cup is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It forms the second tier of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship and is the second highest level of inter-county championship hurling competition in Ireland. The Ulster GAA Hurling Senior Championship, known simply as the Ulster Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition in the province of Ulster, and has been contested every year since the 1901 championship. The Antrim county hurling team represents Antrim GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association, in the Gaelic sport of hurling.
